The article "Silent Cities: How Selective Planting 🌳 is Dimming the Songs of Birds 🕊 " highlights the impact of urban landscaping practices that prioritize aesthetics over ecological balance. The selective planting of ornamental plants is contributing to habitat loss, reduced food sources, and fewer nesting sites for birds, leading to a decline in bird populations and their songs. The article advocates for sustainable landscape practices, including the use of native plants, biodiversity, and measures to prevent root zone compaction, to restore urban ecosystems and support bird populations. Ever wondered how festivals can transform local property markets? The Unexpected Drivers of Property Appreciation: A Festive Tale Picture this: As the vibrant city of Munich gears up for Oktoberfest, property values in the area surge by 3-5%. It’s not just the beer flowing – the influx of tourists and demand for short-term rentals drive this unexpected boom. Similarly, in Edinburgh, the world-renowned Festival Fringe sparks a 4-6% rise in property values as performers and visitors flock to the city. Across the pond in Austin, Texas, the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival sees properties around the venues appreciate by 5-7%. The city’s appeal to tech professionals, artists, and tourists during the event boosts the local real estate market. In Cannes, the glamour of the Film Festival leads to a 5-8% increase in property values, attracting international celebrities, media, and tourists. Even the small village of Pilton in England, home to the iconic Glastonbury Festival, experiences a 3-5% rise in property values due to the massive influx of attendees. In Switzerland, the Montreux Jazz Festival, held by Lake Geneva, can lead to a 4-7% increase in nearby property values. The festival attracts music lovers from around the world, enhancing the area's prestige and demand. And let’s not forget Kolkata during Durga Puja or Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival – both witness significant property value increases as these cultural extravaganzas draw crowds and heighten the area's desirability. These festivals not only bring joy and cultural richness but also drive economic growth and property appreciation, making them hidden gems in the real estate market. So, next time you think about property investments, consider the festive allure that could boost your returns! Is a Lake festival possible in Bangaluru, when we have a grand setting to enjoy it is being created?

A crucial forecast, for India and similar regions and countries, may be a forewarning to brace for improved and efficient storm water infrastructure, recharge, discharge and avoid flooding. This summer and dry conditions, in urbe an Bangalore, has led to general awakening about the importance of storm water recharge, storage in existing lakes and reduce imperability. Should there be any changes in the way the infra is built, bye-laws and the resulting impact?

Water, a simple and abundant element is creating problems...whether in scarcity, affecting food production and living or in abundance, affecting millions along the coast.....it's important now how we perceive it. The perception of a "Landscaped garden" is almost always derived from extensively published images from "other" countries or climatic regions, thereby affecting the aspirations. #india has a unique and different climate and Geography, wherein, the people who can afford to invest in "landscaped Gardens" or get benefitted by investing in it often are swayed by landscape character seen in other regions or zones, which in turn develops stress in the water cycle of the region. is it time to rethink the Landscape character based on the availability of the abundant element in the local region? will it be appropriate to start measuring water footprint of the Garden, in pursuit of net zero? Shall we re-evaluate our perception and aspirations of a landscape which is suited to local climate? will it be appropriate to democratize use of water? just a thought... reference: https://lnkd.in/gnXz4Kcq. #people #investing #water #food #landscapearchitecture #peopleandplanet #landscaping #landscapedesign #watermanagement #waterconservation #waterefficiency #waterefficientlandscapedesign
