📖While returning home from the local area, I saw children from the slum trying to read. I approached one of them and asked, "Don't you go to school?" He replied, "Didi, I wanted to study, but I cannot afford it." More than 70% of children are unable to go to school and struggle to understand simple text.📊 To stop this, we need a community where knowledge is accessible and affordable.👫 With the help of our volunteers, Drops of Change has educated more than 600 children. Nearly 32% of children in slums drop out of school early. 📚 At Drops of Change, we’re stepping in to rewrite this story. Every weekend, kids from under-resourced neighborhoods join our classes at Su-shiksha Pathshala to learn, play, and dream. But it’s not just the kids who grow—our volunteers do, too. They’re gaining skills like active listening, communication, connecting, and leading. It’s a give-and-get kind of experience. 💫 You can be part of this change. Just two hours every weekend. "Is this stone pretty now?" she asked, paint dripping from her elbow. 🎨 Our little artists in Ambala turned simple stones into something spectacular today. And oh, you should've seen them! Tongues stuck out in concentration, eyes focused, paint-smeared fingers (and maybe a few faces 😉), and the proudest grins when they wrote "Jai Shree Ram" in careful, wobbly letters. Thanks to the instructor, our children discovered a rarely-seen side of themselves—artists, creators, a part of something bigger. 🌈 Drops of Change is working tirelessly to bring change at the ground level, creating a ripple effect that grows into something bigger. Diwali is just around the corner, and our beloved children have been inspired by the Ram Setu of Vanar Sena from the Ramayana. They painted the surrounding stones and wrote 'Ram' on them. The children of Ambala's Top Khana basti brought ordinary stones to life by coloring them with the name 'Ram' through their artistic skills. Our team organized a painting activity for the children, where they beautifully showcased their creativity and culture. The joy on their faces turned this small activity into precious moments. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Shalini Suri (Pidilite Industries Ltd) for taking out valuable time to teach children the proper use of colors.
