In this week's blog post, Dr. Sanjyot Pethe, our Wellness associate, reflects on our latest workshop. Exploring the Drama Triangle in our latest workshop revealed how patterns of victimhood, persecution, and rescuing shape our lives. By facing these roles and their impacts, our participants—discovered their power to transform these dynamics. They are redefining their narratives and embracing their agency through reflection and dialogue. Every session brings them closer to understanding their strength and the potential for positive change, personally and in their communities. Dive deeper into this conversation by checking out Dr. Pethe's blog: https://lnkd.in/gMxfE6vw #mentalwellnessworkshop #dramatriangle #mentalhealth #endgbv

Our Associate Program Manager, Smriti Singh, led the field visit to Muheem - Ek Sarthak Prayas, one of our incredible Fellow organisations. Her penned reflections from the visit make up this blog piece- read on to see how she observes Muheem's programs and explores the dynamics of space-taking, even in seemingly insignificant situations, as acts of resistance, while reflecting on the overall need of enabling assertion of women and marginalised communities. Dive into Smriti's thoughts through the link below: Smriti's Blog: https://lnkd.in/g4cemrgx #endgbv #femaleempowerment #internationalwomensday

The recent rape case in Kolkata is a tragic reminder of the harsh reality many women face in India. The fact that women from marginalized communities, especially Dalit women, face disproportionately higher violence reflects how brutalities like rape are not acts of just individual dysfunction, but are instead horrific tools to maintain systemic inequalities. They are done to inspire terror, and the failure of institutions meant to protect citizens from such acts only cements the pushing of vulnerable groups of gender, caste, class etc. further to the margins. We have to strengthen the forces working against Gender Based Violence. We have to listen to the survivors to design better interventions, we have to amplify the work being done on ground, we have to divert resources to under-resourced communities combating violence. At Parity Lab, we are trying to do just that. We are committed to catalyzing the change-makers by providing leadership development, technical coaching, and mental health support to grassroots NGOs combating Gender-Based Violence in rural India. With just the reported crimes against women also averaging at 51 cases every hour in India, we we want to understand how Parity Lab can better meet our vision of a dignified and secure future for all, because this violence has to end. Now. Hear from Mathangi Swaminathan, our Founder, on how she is processing the Kolkata rape case. #kolkata #RGKarHospital #ViolenceAgainstWomen #JusticeForWomen #EndGBV

Since our event yesterday, the Parity Lab team and I have been receiving dozens of messages asking "how can I support this work?" In 3 ways: you can invest in our work, share our stories, and/or be our thought partner ! We need survivor-led innovations to change mindsets bottom-up and end #genderbasedviolence systemically - not one-off capital punishment. Visit https://lnkd.in/gAR5s8vh for options to donate and join our movement! Thank you for the 50+ attendees who joined us yesterday and special thank you to all those who sent us such uplifting messages 🌸 💪 Pranay Karuna Prashanth Venkatesh Manjot Kaur Vishnu Rajeev Neetisha Besra

In a world full of paradoxes, we are more accessible than ever but more isolated than ever. Dr. Sanjyot Pethe, our Wellness Associate here at Parity Lab, focuses on bringing access to mental wellness to rural communities who are battling gender-based violence and who have limited access to such care. During a recent field visit to Muheem - Ek Sarthak Prayas, she witnessed the strength and resilience of women facing immense challenges while facilitating sessions that covered topics such as emotions, beliefs, boundaries, power, and even the relationships of the participants with themselves. She describes that despite these challenges, their desire to learn and grow was inspiring. Mental wellness is deeply rooted in cultural and societal contexts. By acknowledging these realities, we can create meaningful change. Her dream is to spread mental health and to transform the roots of violence - one community at a time.  Check out Dr. Pethe’s reflection on this experience and her thoughts on the power of beliefs and narratives and how they shape us.
