Cervical cancer is the only cancer that can be eliminated, supported by numerous research studies. The WHO's elimination strategy is clear: vaccinate 90% of adolescent girls, screen 70% of women, and treat 90% of pre-cancers and cancers. Implementing this by 2030 could eliminate cervical cancer as a public health threat in 50-70 years. Elimination means the incidence of this cancer will come down and will not be a public health threat. Any cancer gets the due attention when the deaths figures are large. Indian data needs to travel across platforms for it to get the due attention. Where are the cervical cancer death figures? Can we trust these numbers? #CancerCFI #HPV #Cervicalcancer #Cancerprevention #CervicalCancerElimination #HPVVaccination #CommunityAction #PreventCancer #HPVvaccine

In India, cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women. Despite that Cervical cancer does not get talked about. The possible reasons could be societal stigma around sexual health, poor understanding of a preventable cancer and a general apathy towards women's health issues. It's a reality that Cervical cancer is not discussed much in India. There is a lot of information on cervical cancer on the internet but we have not accessed enough. What stops us from reading about cervical cancer. It could be denial that it won't happen to me. It could be stigma. What could be the reason? #CancerCFI #HPV #Cervicalcancer #Cancerprevention #CervicalCancerElimination #HPVVaccination #CommunityAction #PreventCancer #HPVvaccine

Cervical cancer develops in the cervix, the uterine cervix and not the spinal cervix. Some confuse that this cervix is in the spinal area. Cervix is the entrance to the uterus from the vagina in women.
