Today, at the crack of dawn, over a hundred employees of BEL's Bangalore Complex, many of them die-hard cycling enthusiasts, pedalled away to glory at a Cyclothon organised on the occasion of Engineer's Day by BEL Officers' Club (BEOC) to promote cycling as a daily habit to ease traffic congestions, raise awareness about fitness and sustainability and foster a healthier lifestyle. Mr Rajnish Sharma, Director (Bangalore Complex), flagged off the event and later led the group, as the adult cyclists pedalled from the club premises in Jalahalli to Avalahalli forest covering a distance of 10 km. The kids, meanwhile, enjoyed a guided 5-km ride within the club premises. The event included warmup and cool-down sessions under the guidance of Officers' Club office-bearers. All the participants were distributed certificates and medals provided by Decathalon.

Hon'ble Home Minister launches BEL Glossary The Hon'ble Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah, released the Electronics (Defence & Non-Defence) Glossary of Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) during the 4th All India Official Language Conference held on Hindi Day at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, today. Shri Nityanand Rai, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Secretary (OL), Smt Anshuli Arya, Shri Manoj Jain, CMD, BEL, Shri Vikraman N, Director (HR), BEL, Shri Ramkumar B, GM (HR)/BEL-CO, OL and HR officers of all Units and offices of BEL were present on the occasion. More than 7,200 technical terms have been standardised in Hindi in this glossary prepared under the guidance and coordination of subject experts from the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT), Ministry of Education, GoI. Scientists and engineers of BEL were also actively involved in finalising the Hindi terms. This glossary will be useful for not only government organisations but also general readers, students, teachers and translators.

BEL participated in the ET Government India Defence Conclave '24 on "Atmanirbharta in the Age of Emerging Technologies & Transforming Geopolitics" held in New Delhi today. Mr Manoj Jain, CMD, BEL, spoke in a panel discussion organised at the event on the topic "Atmanirbharta: Making India Self-reliant in Defence Technology – Vision & Roadmap". He emphasised the need for adopting a multi-pronged strategy for Research & Development in Defence sector. BEL receives orders worth Rs. 1,155 Crores Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has secured an order worth Rs. 850 Cr from Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) for the supply of indigenous Multi Function Radar in X Band. Mr TD Nandakumar, GM (ADSN)/BEL, received the order for MFR (X) on behalf of BEL from Mr Sreejith, Director (Operations)/CSL, today in the presence of Mr Suresh Kumar KV, Director (Marketing)/BEL, Mr Jose VJ, Director (Finance)/CSL, and Mrs Prabha Goyal, Executive Director (National Marketing)/BEL. This fully indigenous radar, designed by DRDO and manufactured by BEL, is capable of detecting, acquiring and tracking airborne targets to provide protection for naval ships. Additionally, following its last disclosure on August 22, 2024, BEL has secured orders valued at Rs. 305 Cr, which include orders for navigational complex system for ships, thermal imagers, communication equipment, fire control system, gun control system, spares, services, etc. With these orders, BEL has now accumulated orders totaling Rs. 7,075 Cr in the current financial year.

BEL is showcasing various products and components that are part of its indigenisation requirements from MSME vendors at an exhibition being held on the sidelines of the two-day MSME Conclave (2024), being organised by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI) with the support of the Ministry of MSME, GoI, at Princess Shrine, Palace Grounds, Bangalore, from August 30-31, 2024. The MSME Conclave-2024 was inaugurated today by Ms Shobha Karandlaje, Hon'ble Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour & Employment. The Hon'ble MoS, who visited the BEL stall, was briefed about BEL's indigenisation efforts.
