Quick Update: On September 10, 2024, the NCLAT ruled in M/s Agarwal Foundries Pvt. Ltd. v. POSCO E&C India Pvt. Ltd. that claims under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code cannot be used for money recovery, highlighting misuse of the law. Our Partner, Aastha ., recently conducted an industry curated course on "Laws Governing Stamp Duty in India" at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), Sonipat. The course manual was designed by Aastha, along with Aditi Singh Kashyap, Senior Associate, and Apoorva Soni, Associate. The course was focused on understanding the fundamentals of stamp duty laws as well as the implications on transaction structuring and enforceability of contracts.
