Our September roundtable discussion was on the topic "Combating shadow AI in the organization" The discussion emphasizes the rising awareness of shadow AI through clear communication, quick education, and policies. Below are few key categories, 1. Strategic Misalignment - Where AI teams purpose, goals, budget, KPI etc are not aligned with whole org's purpose. 2. Operational Misalignment - The AI team's activities don't directly contribute to the company's financial performance. 3. Structural Misalignment- The AI leadership is not well connected with or far removed from the Executive leadership, its skills and experiences don't match the company's requirements. 4. Cultural Misalignment- Specific market factors may induce overly cautious behaviours, archaic performance/ reward mechanisms, that stifle open collaboration required for creating transformative change with AI.
