New Tata Final Assembly Line for Airbus C295 in Vadodara In a momentous event that marks a significant milestone in India’s defence manufacturing sector, the Tata Final Assembly Line (FAL) for the Airbus C295 aircraft was inaugurated in Vadodara. This landmark occasion was graced by the presence of the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, and the President of the Government of Spain, Señor Pedro Sánchez. They were joined by Indian Cabinet Ministers Shri Rajnath Singh, Shri S. Jaishankar, and Shri CR Patil, along with the Chairman of Tata Sons, N. Chandrasekaran, and Airbus Defence and Space CEO, Michael Schoellhorn. The inauguration of this state-of-the-art facility comes three years after the Indian Air Force formalized the acquisition of 56 Airbus C295 aircraft. Out of these, 40 units will be manufactured and assembled at this new FAL in collaboration with Tata Advanced Systems Ltd. (TASL). This facility is a testament to the vision, mission, and ambition of all stakeholders involved. It symbolizes a new dawn in defence manufacturing in India, showcasing the country’s commitment to innovation and excellence. The establishment of this assembly line is the result of countless hours of meticulous planning, designing, and construction by dedicated teams from Airbus Defence and Space and TASL. Each component of this facility tells a story of hard work and perseverance. The successful inauguration is a collective achievement, reflecting the unwavering dedication of everyone involved. As we celebrate this significant milestone, we look forward to an exciting journey ahead, filled with new opportunities and advancements in defence technology.

Funding supported by the Aeronautics Research and Development Board, DRDO, and ISRO. Development led by Prof. Ajay Vikram Singh and his research group from the Department of Aerospace Engineering. Achieved successfully demonstrated the propagation of a detonation wave in a laboratory setting for the first time in India, within a record time of two years. The Aeronautical Society of India Design Division & Mumbai Branch Present: 8th National Aerospace Conceptual Design Competition (NACDeC-VIII) NACDeC-VIII the 8th edition of NACDeC for the academic year 2024-2025, focusing on the conceptual design and sizing of a Supersonic Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (SUCAV). This competition is open to teams of undergraduate and/or postgraduate students from CFTIs or AICTE-approved institutions in India. Each institute can nominate one team of up to five students from any discipline. Schedule of Activities: NACDeC-VIII will consist of four stages: Design Competency Examination, mid-term report, final design report, and a technical presentation before a panel of judges. Each stage will involve specific tasks for the participating teams. Prizes and Certificates: The total prize money for NACDeC-VIII is Rs. 4 Lakhs. Members and faculty mentors of teams that successfully complete Stage-III will receive participation certificates. Additionally, round-trip travel expenses (up to 2 AC Rail fare for the shortest distance) for outstation teams will be reimbursed for the Stage-IV presentation, and suitable accommodation will be provided. Local travel expenses will not be reimbursed. The annual National Aerospace Conceptual Design Competition (NACDeC) is a significant initiative in this regard. Bronze Statue of Dr. Suri Bhagavantam Unveiled ✨ On the occasion of Dr. Suri Bhagavantam’s 115th birth anniversary, a bronze statue of the renowned scientist was unveiled at Sri Sobhanadri Lakshmi Narasimha Veda Sastra Pathasala in Agiripalli. The event was graced by the presence of Dr G Satheesh Reddy, President of The Aeronautical Society of India, Former Chairman of DRDO and Chairman of the Aeronautical Society of India, who emphasized Dr Bhagavantam’s pivotal role in establishing 25 defense laboratories. Minister for Housing, Information and Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathy, along with MLA Mandali Buddhaprasad, also attended the ceremony. Parthasarathy highlighted the significant contributions of Dr. Suri Bhagavantam, noting that former President of India, the late Abdul Kalam, excelled in their field due to the efforts of pioneers like Bhagavantam.
