This index measures how municipalities in Israel support the LGBTQ+ community. The war in Israel has exposed the deep gap between the mobilization of the LGBTQ+ community for the war effort and the lack of full rights in civilian life. The actions of municipalities give us hope. We believe that through cooperation, tolerance, and acceptance, we can continue to build a more just and inclusive Israeli society for the LGBTQ+ community and all its citizens. 📢 LGBTQ-Phobia Status Report in Israel We published our annual LGBTQ-Phobia status report for Israel >> https://lnkd.in/dnTDjcmb In 2023, there was a 28% increase in reported LGBTQ-phobia incidents compared to 2022. Civil protests saw a 93% rise in general violence, a 127% increase in physical injuries towards LGBTQ+ individuals, and a 38.5% increase in injuries, with almost 40% occurring in public spaces. War in October led to a decrease in reports, but a study indicates that 20% of the community experienced increased LGBTQ phobia during this time. The drop in reports likely reflects barriers to reporting rather than fewer incidents.
