This successful interception joins numerous others against missiles and UAVs, both by C-Dome and its land-based counterpart, Iron Dome, further proving the effectiveness of our layered defense capabilities. 🚀 U.S. Marine Corps Completes First Live-Fire Exercise with Iron Dome-Integrated Air Defense System 🇺🇸🤝🇮🇱 In a significant step for joint U.S.-Israel air defense initiatives, the U.S. Marine Corps has successfully completed its inaugural live-fire exercise with a prototype air defense system incorporating Rafael’s Iron Dome (Tamir) interceptor. This system—developed with Raytheon as the prime contractor—integrates an American radar and command center with the Tamir interceptor and mobile launcher, enabling agile deployment and interception capabilities tailored for the Marines. This exercise highlighted the Marines’ proficiency in fully operating the system and underscored the Iron Dome interceptor’s capability to address a range of threats, including cruise missiles, UAVs, and various forms of rocket artillery. Following comprehensive training and testing phases, the live-fire exercise validated the mobile launcher’s continuous launch capabilities, a critical feature for medium-range interception. Shlomo Toaff, Executive Vice President, Head of Rafael’s Air Defense Systems Division: “The Iron Dome system continues to prove itself as an advanced and unique air defense solution, with thousands of successful interceptions in complex operational scenarios. Our collaboration with the U.S. Marine Corps and our partnership with Raytheon demonstrates Rafael’s ability to deliver tailored and unique solutions, providing effective and precise air defense against a wide range of aerial threats. This successful exercise represents an important milestone, and we will continue, together with IMDO, to expand air defense capabilities in collaboration with our strategic partners worldwide.” This successful milestone reflects the robust partnership between Rafael, Raytheon, and the U.S. Marine Corps as they work toward enhanced medium-range interception capabilities, paving the way for the operationalization of the Marine Corps’ first prototype battery.

We are proud to announce a historic agreement with the Israel Ministry of Defense, marking a major expansion in the deployment of the "Iron Beam" laser system, as we approach the completion of its development. Yoav Tourgeman, CEO of Rafael: “Following years of pioneering research and development, we are proud to be at the forefront of advancing this world-leading laser system. ‘Iron Beam’ is a transformative milestone that will significantly enhance defense capabilities. The integration of laser interception with missile interception will further strengthen the defense envelope against a wide range of aerial threats.” Ministry of Defense Director General, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Eyal Zamir, stated: "The ‘Iron Beam’ agreement is among the most strategic we’ve signed, ushering in a new era in battlefield technology—the laser era. The first operational deployment of this ground-based laser system, developed in collaboration between MAFAT, major defense industries, and startup companies, is expected to go into service within the coming year." The Iron Beam is a high-power, ground-based laser defense solution designed to counter diverse aerial threats, including rockets, mortar shells, UAVs, and cruise missiles. Israel’s Ministry of Defense recently led a groundbreaking trial showcasing advanced technologies to counter evolving UAV threats. Rafael Advanced Defense Systems participated, demonstrating its cutting-edge TYPHOON system—a 30mm projectile interception solution designed for long-range engagement and strategic asset protection. Additionally, Rafael partnered with Airobotics to present an advanced reusable UAV interceptor, further expanding the capabilities of UAV defense systems. Held at Rafael’s state-of-the-art testing facility in southern Israel, the trial was led by Israel’s Directorate of Defense Research & Development (DDR&D), under Brig. Gen. (Res.) Dr. Daniel Gold. Key defense entities, including the IDF and the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology, played vital roles in overseeing the event. This trial marks a significant step forward in the expedited development of operational interception capabilities to address the multi-arena UAV threats Israel faces.
