Hundreds march in Central Park to mark Omer Neutra’s, Israeli American hostage, 23rd birthday in captivity and to demand the immediate release of all hostages. The march was followed by a community basketball game with Omer’s friends who loved playing basketball throughout high school. Orna Neutra, Mother of Israeli American hostage Omer Neutra addressed the big crowd: “Omer celebrated his birthday in captivity and we were shocked. How are you supposed to celebrate another birthday in the terror dungeons of Hamas? I pray that your hunger for this world doesn’t subside. We wish for only one thing: that you come back to us”. Ronen Neutra, Omer’s Father, added: “After Yom Kippur and seeking atonement, I know the leaders of America and Israel failed you. All 101 of you. This has to stop. The only ‘Tshuva’ is to bring the hostages back as a first priority”. “Soon, there will be nothing left of my heart, or Emily,” said Mandy Damari, Emily’s mother, in Hyde Park in front of thousands of people at the event that marked one year since October 7th. Mandy has been holding Emily’s poster for over a year now, doing everything she can to finally hold her daughter like a mother is meant to, like she does every time she closes her eyes—hugging her and never letting go. We must not forget the horrific moments of October 7th, the day Omri Miran was abducted into Gaza. When Hamas attacked and fired missiles at 6:29 a.m., Lishay and Omri Miran from Kibbutz Nahal Oz were not concerned. They were used to this unbelievable routine of rockets. Omri took their two little girls, 2-year-old Roni and 6-month-old Alma, to the safe room. The four of them waited for the usual message telling them they could leave the room, and Lishay even took the time between sirens to grab a snack and a bottle of milk for the girls from the kitchen. At around 10 a.m., the shooting around the house grew heavier. Omri and Lishay tried to stay quiet. They heard the terrorists approaching the safe room door, demanding they open it immediately. The terrorists banged on the door with the barrels of their rifles, but Omri and Lishay did not open it. Several minutes later, 17-year-old Tomer Arava, their neighbor, came to the door and asked them to open it. They realized the terrorists were holding the young boy. Lishay recounts the event: “He told us, ‘It’s Tomer, Dikla’s son. I’m asking that you open the door. If you don’t, they will hurt me, but if you do, everything will be okay.’ His words were reassuring, but I could hear his voice breaking. Omri and I looked at each other, and it took us 10 seconds to open the door. The terrorists led us to the kitchen while 2-year-old Roni was left asleep in the safe room. We begged them to let us go and bring her, and they allowed Tomer, the neighbor, to go get her. At a certain point, one of the terrorists pointed his gun at Omri, demanding he showed him where he kept his weapon in the house. Only after they realized Omri was telling the truth did they decided to take us all to the next-door neighbors.” Both families were told to sit in the kitchen, surrounded by terrorists who placed explosives and RPG missiles around them and kept threatening them at gunpoint. Hamas live-streamed the event, showing the families sitting with bloodstains around them. Only three hours later, the terrorists took the RPGs and explosives, handcuffed Omri, who was in his boxers, and abducted him. Lishay continues: “They left the house, grabbed the keys to our cars, and we saw them take off. I managed to say four things to Omri – ‘I love you, I’m looking after the girls, we are waiting for you, don’t try to be a hero.’ 2-year-old Roni, who had kept silent until that very moment, broke down and started screaming. She got up and tried to follow him. I had to hold her and keep her from running after them.” At the end of April, Hamas released a video showing Omri in captivity. Omri Miran, 47, has been held hostage in Gaza for more than a year. We must not forget Omri and all the hostages still held captive in Gaza. We must bring them all home. Now!

What an awful joke! Nominating UNRWA as a candidate for the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE? UNRWA Commissioner-General was presented with clear evidence that ties workers at a Palestinian aid agency in Gaza to violent acts during Hamas terror attack on Israel: An UNRAW teacher was recorded kidnapping women, another is said to have handed out ammunition to terrorists. A third was described as taking part in the massacre at a kibbutz, where 97 people were murdered. One of their social workers was captured taking the body of 21-year-old Yonatan Samerano in UNRWA’s truck into Gaza. UNRWA admitted that 9 of its employees may have been involved in the October 7th attacks. Terrorists don't get prizes.

As the eve of Yom Kippur approaches, Ziv Abud wrote a heartfelt letter to her beloved partner, Eliya Cohen, who has been held hostage in Gaza for over a year: "Baby, Yom Kippur is in two days. Last year, the two of us spent the day with Amit and Karin. This year, I’m left alone. Every year, we sit together and reflect on the past year. We talk for hours about what went on that year— the things we want to change in ourselves; the things we want to keep the same. We talk about self-fulfillment, our partnership, and how we’ll take it to the next level. We dream of reaching new heights together, setting goals that will bring us closer to the summit. Baby, what am I going to do this year? Who will I talk to? What will I say? Should I say that this has been the worst year of my life? That I’ve been forced to learn endless lessons about faith? Every year, we wish each other an easy and meaningful fast. This year, I’m focusing on ‘meaningful.’ Let’s pray that this Yom Kippur brings the greatest meaning of all—that all injustice disappears. I pray that you come home. I’m waiting for you at home."
