Caused by the soil inhabiting fungus, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, White Mold is easily distinguished by its white cottony, growth (mycelia) and the hard, black structures, known as sclerotia, that form on infected plant tissues. 🌿 This destructive disease is prevalent in #soy, and also a wide range of other plants; which makes it a challenging problem for #farmers to control. Cool, wet conditions at the time of flowering are most conducive to the development of the fungus; and the airless, dense canopy formed by soybean crops also favors the spread of the disease. 🌦️ This insightful image, taken in the Mato Grosso state of Brazil, by our colleague Cameron Stephens, Ph.D. shows textbook White Mold signs and symptoms. #PhotoFriday 📷

For the third consecutive year, Almada has been recognized as the best fungicide in terms of control and yield by Brazil’s Soybean Rust Consortium, led by Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa). The consortium’s trials, carried out by the main researchers in the country, are the main reference for measuring the efficiency of fungicides in controlling soybean rust. 🏆   Our Almada fungicide was launched in 2022 - an innovative #CropProtection product that helps deliver security for Brazilian #farmers, by combatting rust and other major diseases in #soy. With unrivaled efficacy and offering ease of operation for growers, it quickly gained momentum as the leading solution in the market. 🫛   Congratulations ADAMA Brasil for winning this significant award! 👏

Globally, Europe is taking the lead by putting #sustainability at the core of food production. As proud members of CropLife Europe, we’re actively supporting the acceleration of practical initiatives that help farmers grow more sustainably, supporting the targets created to align with the EU Green Deal. 🌍 We’re playing a key role in supporting efforts to establish an industry wide approach for digital product labels, to help growers comply with EU regulation. With machine and software readable labels, #farmers can improve safety and efficiency; seamlessly connecting to management systems and equipment; ensuring compliance while applying #CropProtection products in the most sustainable way. ✅ This innovative project, known as AgriGuide, is already trialing in Romania, Italy and Germany, and we have ambitions to roll out digitized labels across other EU countries in the coming years. 🏷️

The EU has officially approved the renewal of Folpet and Captan - two crucial active ingredients (AIs) in multi-site fungicides, essential for European growers. With this approval, our products based on these vital AIs will continue to be available to farmers across Europe. 🌿 Both Folpet and Captan underwent rigorous re-evaluation, and we're proud to have played a key role in this renewal process, by providing extensive data that demonstrated their ongoing safety. Without this approval, farmers would have faced significant challenges, with no viable alternatives available in the market. 👏 This decision is a major win for the agricultural community, ensuring that farmers have the tools they need to thrive. It also reaffirms ADAMA's commitment to providing safe and effective solutions to protect crops against fungal diseases. Read more about this important milestone and how we're dedicated to supporting farmers with the tools they need to succeed. ➡️

The soldier beetle is aptly named; as its distinctive red colour is said to resemble regimental uniforms, and it can also help to combat many insect pests. 🪳 Emerging from eggs laid in the soil, larvae first prey on slugs and snails; then once mature, adults will supplement their diet of nectar and pollen, with soft-bodied insects, like aphids and red spider mite. 🐌 Thanks to our colleague Tomas Armanavicius for sharing this image of the distinctive beetle he found on a crop of winter wheat, growing in the Radviliskis district of Lithuania. #PhotoFriday 📷

We listen to learn, and deliver solutions to our world’s farmers.   Recently our global leadership team, including Steven Hawkins, Efrat Nagar, Florian Wagner and Elad Shabtai travelled to Brazil; they met with the main cotton growers and consultants in the state of Mato Grosso, visited a citrus and sugar cane farm business in São Paulo state, and caught up with our partners and colleagues in the region. 🌎   🚜 Farmers are facing increasing challenges in Brazil and across the globe, so it’s important that our portfolio continues to add value to their businesses. This is demonstrated by ADAMA Brazil, which is leading the way with the launch of innovative products to support Brazil's farmers now and in the future.   Continue com o bom trabalho Adama Brasil!

As an ancient grain, sorghum has been grown for thousands of years and today it is widely used for food, feed and fuel. As farmers face increasing threats from drought across the planet, this versatile plant comes to the fore, as a crop that can grow in a variety of climates and soil conditions. 🌾 In Germany, sorghum is still a niche crop, but #farmers are increasing production, especially in areas frequently experiencing drought – like Bavaria, Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg. Thanks to our colleague Dr. Grit L. for sharing this interesting image of a sorghum plant, from fields near Magdeburg in the east of Germany. #PhotoFriday 📷
