The High Court recently dismissed challenges brought by social media platforms Reddit and Tumblr against Coimisiún na Meán's decision to designate both platforms as video-sharing platform services (VSPS's). These judgements mean that they may be subject to the Online Safety Code to be developed by Coimisiún na Meán once it is implemented, alongside 8 other VSPS's. Following the conclusion of the first-ever parliamentary inquiry into birth trauma in the UK, mothers and groups representing those who have experienced a traumatic birth in Ireland, have called on the government to conduct a similar inquiry, as part of its Women's Health Action Plan.
