Congratulations to the members of our UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre team who participated in the Waterford Viking Marathon at the weekend. Their efforts supported SERT, a dedicated volunteer-based transport service operating across the South East of Ireland. SERT's vehicles provide essential door-to-door and pick-up point transportation for patients undergoing radiotherapy, ensuring they can travel to and from the hospital with ease. SERT currently serves communities in Waterford City, Clonmel, Dungarvan, Kilkenny, Wexford, and South Tipperary, providing crucial transportation to UPMC's Hillman Cancer Centre in Waterford.

We are delighted to relaunch our 'Mind Yourself' series in partnership with Agriland Media. The series aims to tackle some of the common orthopaedic and joint pain problems that farmers face due to the physically demanding nature of the job, where long hours and strenuous tasks can take their toll. Whether the issue is with a knee, a shoulder, or the lower back, the advice tends to be consistent. Ignoring an old injury or persistent pain can have serious repercussions. What may seem like a minor issue can develop into a chronic condition if left untreated. Proper diagnosis and rehabilitation are crucial to prevent further damage and ensure long-term health and a better quality of life on the farm. Special thanks to UPMC patient Denis, and his son Patrick, for their time and participation in our 'Mind Yourself' series Read more: www.upmc.ie/farmers
