This is so true. From speaking to candidates daily, the majority of reasons people leave really is down to poor communication in so many forms. My employee retention head comes into play and I would always ask the questions but what if you did X and then raised it? It's too late. The motivation is gone, the feeling of not been heard and also the sense of its too late. Everyone has a breaking point. I honestly think if every employer just did what Culturehood advised below and asked that one question weekly... All ok? (and genuinely mean it) It would solve so much. The new culture has become a culture of fear to say anything. A lot of digital comms, team and slack and covering all bases of "internal communications" to basically report upwards with data but do you really know what is going on? Instead everyone is dancing around with "happy faces" and head nodding yes until that big surprise when the resignation is handed in! Thanks Culturehood for bringing this up!
