It was an incredible week in Cape Town representing the Barbarians F.C and a privilege to finish my career alongside rugby legends! The smiles say it all! My journey with Tullow, Railway, Leinster Rugby, Wasps FC, Gloucester Rugby, and Harlequins, and the honour of representing Ireland, has been truly special. I’m deeply grateful for the teammates, coaches, medics, high-performance teams, supporters and family who made it all possible. Sport has been a powerful vehicle for growth, offering the chance to travel, meet incredible people, experience diverse cultures, and build skills like teamwork, resilience, leadership, and a growth mindset—skills I carry into every part of my life. As the game continues to evolve, I hope future players can access inclusive pathways that support both athletic and professional growth, giving more girls and women the opportunity to excel in sport and beyond. In the end, it’s the people—family, friends, and lifelong rugby connections—that make the journey unforgettable. "He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata. What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people". ~ Thanks to our captain, Charmaine McMenamin for sharing this Māori proverb.

Practicing what we preach! Congratulations to our very own Finola Roache on her recent completion of the Executive MBA with Trinity College Dublin 📜
🎓 Executive MBA Complete! 🎓 I am proud to share that I completed my two-year Executive MBA with Trinity College Dublin. The journey has been nothing short of phenomenal—overwhelming at times but immensely rewarding overall. Over the last two years, I’ve learned from some of the best lecturers in Ireland, each with a wealth of industry knowledge. The program also allowed me to work on practical projects that addressed real business challenges, making it an impactful experience. I've finished with a deeper understanding of critical areas such as Strategy, Leadership, Financial Statement Analysis, and Negotiations. They say you learn as much from your classmates as you do from your professors, and I honestly could not have asked for a better cohort. I am very lucky to have been a part of the Class of 2024 and look forward to celebrating in style at our Graduation next month!! Balancing a part-time master's with a role in a fast-paced, dynamic organisation requires immense support and understanding. A special thank you to Simon Keogh and all of my colleagues at Rugby Players Ireland for their patience and encouragement throughout this journey, it made all the difference. #EMBA #LifelongLearning #TrinityCollege #BusinessLeadership #GraduationSoon

IMI is delighted to announce the awarding of two scholarships as part of our ongoing partnership with Rugby Players Ireland. This collaboration, aimed at supporting former athletes in their professional development, continues to foster opportunities that enable former rugby players to grow and develop in their careers off the field. Having worked with Simon Keogh and the Rugby Players Ireland team, the two recipients of this year’s scholarships are Kieran Lewis (Occupational Therapy at Trinity College Dublin) and Paul Marshall (Player Development Manager, Ulster, at Rugby Players Ireland). The scholarships will cover the full cost of their chosen programmes, which will begin this autumn. Read more:

“You forget the pregnancy, and the hard times through that. You forget the loneliness, and the comeback, how crap I felt, how I had no core, no speed, how I wasn’t fit, how I then got back. And then doing the ACL and the slog in and out of the gym. “It’ll be emotional, no doubt, if I do get to wear that Irish jersey again.” Eimear Considine's resilience was rewarded on Saturday as she capped a remarkable return with a shining performance on what was a special afternoon for everyone involved ☘ #MoreThanAPlayer

As the season starts to ramp up, we’re in the process of catching up with our members across the country. This week we were in Munster! 🔴 As well as meeting with the wider squad, we were delighted to be joined by our Chairperson Peter O’Mahony and his Munster Rugby teammates Stephen Archer, Diarmuid Barron, Alex Nankivell and Niall Scannell on Monday evening. The few days also presented an opportunity for the Rugby Players Ireland team to get together and appraise plans for the coming campaign... a busy few months lie ahead 👊🏻 #MoreThanAPlayer
