🌍 Reflecting on the European Insurance Forum: "Insuring a Planet in Transition – Funding, Insuring, Reporting Sustainability" 🌍 Last week, I had the honour of joining an insightful panel at the European Insurance Forum in Dublin Castle, hosted by Insurance Ireland. The session, “Insuring a Planet in Transition”, tackled some of the most pressing challenges facing our industry today. Together with my esteemed fellow panelists, Kathrin Scherff, CEO & MD Advanced Solutions Ireland, Hannover Re; Tatjana Greil Castro, PhD, Portfolio Manager, Muzinich & Co; and Stephen D'Ardis, of Counsel, Arthur Cox LLP, we explored the pivotal role of the insurance sector in driving and supporting sustainability efforts. It was a privilege to share the stage with such leaders and to engage in thoughtful discussions around: 🔵 The geopolitical landscape 🔵The ever-pressing climate challenges 🔵 Digital transformation shaping our sector 🔵 The role of trade policies in navigating this transitional phase It was clear from the discussions that insurers are uniquely positioned to influence positive change, particularly as we address the risks and opportunities presented by our rapidly changing world. A big thank you to Insurance Ireland for organizing such a thought-provoking event. Special thanks to Petra Hielkema (she / her),Sharon Donnery, Stephen Devine, Stephen D'Ardis, Joe Lynam, Neale Richmond TD, Jack Chambers, and all the wonderful speakers who made this event a success. The insurance industry plays a pivotal role in the sustainability transition, and it was inspiring to see so much passion and commitment in the room. Looking forward to continuing the conversation as we work together to insure a more resilient and sustainable future. #EIF2024 #InsuranceIreland #Sustainability #ClimateRisk #Insurance #DigitalTransformation #GeopoliticalRisk #CSRD #OpenFinance Big thanks also to: Moyagh Murdock, Florian Wimber, Tara O'Connell and Michael Curtin!

Throwback to the European Insurance Forum, where Ambassador Céline Place delivered the keynote speech during the gala dinner 🙌 🇫🇷 and 🇮🇪 are two major players in the field of insurance in 🇪🇺, and the dialogue between Paris and Dublin on how to promote, accompany and regulate its actors is necessary to reach common objectives of competitiveness and adequate financing of the green transition 🤝 Ambassador Place layed out the French priorities for the implementation of the Solvency II directive, as well as the role insurers could play to foster a greater Capital Markets Union. A very rich discussion ensued, notably with Frances Fitzgerald, Michael J. McGrath, Jan Kellett, Sharon Donnery and Petra Hielkema (she / her) 💬 Thanks to Stephen Devine, Moyagh Murdock, Florian Wimber and the team of Insurance Ireland for their invitation and organization, and to the team of Direction générale du Trésor Général du Trésor, both in Paris and Dublin, for the preparation of the event (Martin Landais, Diane Fattelay)
