This week we kick-started our 2024 Life Science Manufacturing (LSM) Graduate Program, and would like to give a massive welcome to our 20 new graduates into Cognizant in Ireland, with others starting across the US, CE and India. Our specially designed graduate program provides each graduate with a head-start as they learn about our business, the life sciences industry, manufacturing technologies and products, as well as soft skills that will set them up for their future careers. The program was opened up by Eileen Martin (Head of Training), David Sheedy (Head of LSM Ireland) along with Engagement Delivery Leads and Team Managers; Nigel Plowman, Orla Cussen, Chloe Laffan, Padraig O'Murchu, Anthony Neville, Nat Simcox. As part of the program graduates visited the Carrigaline Biopharma Life Sciences Training Facility, providing great insights and practical workshops. We would like to give a special thanks to Sarah and Sean form the Training Facility who gave an insight knowledge into all of the equipment with a special focus on the bioreactor and a practical workshop on it. Also a big thank you to Yvonne Brady, Janina Zambrzycka, Akshay Sharma and Felipe Ferraz Torres for their help in all activities on the day. As well as a most anticipated site tour to Janssen Inc. Sciences Ringaskiddy facility in Cork, Ireland where graduates were walked through the bioprocess on site, from cell culture to the purification stages. They were able to see the equipment used in these processes and how they are controlled by the DCS system. The tour showed the graduates a GMP environment first hand, the importance of quality and the rigorous procedures that must be followed on site.
