Launch of the New ‘Med Shed’ Facility! We are thrilled to announce the opening of Barretstown’s new ‘Med Shed’, a state-of-the-art medical facility dedicated to providing essential on-site care for children facing cancer and other serious illnesses. Officially launched with the support of U2 guitarist, The Edge, the Med Shed is staffed by a full-time medical team, with additional support from volunteer doctors and nurses, ensuring that children and teens at Barretstown can fully participate in our therapeutic camps without compromising their medical care. As Ireland’s largest provider of therapeutic camps for children with serious illnesses, Barretstown is on track to reach 250,000 children and family members by 2030. This year alone, we’ll support over 22,500 participants across 14 illness groups - thanks to our community’s unwavering generosity. A huge thank you to everyone who made this project possible and who joined us at the launch, including our incredible Patron Sabina Higgins and our Medical Patron, Professor Owen Smith. Together, we’re creating lasting impact and helping more children experience the joy and healing of Barretstown. #Barretstown #MedShed #TheEdge #TherapeuticRecreation

Award-winning Security Leader | Director for Ireland at WiCyS UK & Ireland | Keynote Speaker | Podcast Curator and Host | Mentor
It's #Friday and Fridays are for #fun stuff! Here are five #random things from my week: I have no photos! I forgot to take any #photos. So, I let #AI build an image based on my activities. It did ok, bar not being able to spell anything. 👩💻 I attended #IRISSCON by Irish Reporting and Information Security Service (IRISSCERT) with a bunch of the #ladies from Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) UK & Ireland. It was so good to see you all there although I forgot to take a photo when I was there! Some of my favourite sessions of the day were by Robert McArdle from Trend Micro, Onur Korucu from IAPP and GovernID, Michael Mullen from An Garda Síochána and Eleanor Dallaway from Assured. Some real meaty content! 💪 I had some more great #conversations this week with inspiring people like, Si Pavitt, Chris Woodcock, Pariss Chandler, Charlotte Wheeler (Crosby), Dr Tanya Mulcahy PhD and Erin Vlack /. I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing all about other people's experiences when it comes to #innovation, #leadership, #tech, #empowerment and more! 🏆 Last night I was #celebrated as a finalist at Business Post Leadership Excellence Awards for the best Non-Profit #leader. I couldn't make it but I want to extend my #congratulations to the wonderful Dee Ahearn from Barretstown. Well done and really well deserved! If you don't know what #Barretstown do, go check them out. It's really worthwhile. They support children living with illness through organising free camps. 🎓 Today I'll be joining the Day of Shecurity Leadership #Conference. Thank you to people like Deidre Diamond and Stacey Champagne who, whilst insanely busy with their own work and lives are spending time organising a great event like this to #support women in #Cyber leadership all over the world! If you are not already signed up to attend then sort yourself out and do it. It runs beyond the work day in my time zone so there is plenty of time to catch up. Here are the details: https://lnkd.in/eE94FN2W 📖 I started a #book. Because, why not. I have all these ideas and it never occurred to me to pull it together into a book. So, I'm gonna give it try. #Writing has never been my forte but I've been working on it all year by writing #articles, #blogs and white #papers for people so I figured why not try and do it for me. I realise it's entirely possible that this could be both the start and the end of it but if I don't #try I'll never know :D 😕 I thought yesterday was Wednesday so today being Friday caught me by #surprise. This weekend I'll be watching the Inside Out 2 #movie and I can't wait!!!!! Have a great #weekend!
