Shalom Sabar
Shalom Sabar, Ph.D. (1987), Art History, University of California Los Angeles, is a professor of Jewish Art and Folklore, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Research and publications concentrate on Jewish art and folk art, material culture, ceremonies, rituals and customs of Jewish communities in the life and year cycles; Jewish magic and ephemeral materials; Bible and Jerusalem in art; the relationships of Jewish art and folklore with the cultures of the host societies in Christian Europe and the Islamic East.
