Jason Glushon, 39, president and founder Glushon Sports Management Glushon has had a strong run in recent years, despite being one of the more prominent player agents in the league not attached to a large agency. Glushon worked for seven years at Wasserman before he left that agency to start one of his own in 2016. He represents Jaylen Brown, who signed what was then the largest deal in NBA history last summer, and Jrue Holiday, who signed a $135 million extension with the Celtics in April — along with two other members of the rotation on the Celtics’ title-winning team. Orlando Magic’s Franz Wagner, another client, signed a rookie max extension this offseason. Not bad for a former minor league baseball player who made it to Triple-A with the Oakland A’s organization before pivoting his career ambitions.

Vernon Maxwell: 'Penny Hardaway should have left Little Penny in the damn background'

Vernon Maxwell on Anfernee Hardaway: Penny was a problem, one of the first 6-9, 6-8 point guards we have ever seen. He was a problem. When they put LiL Penny out there they kind of f*cked him up. He should have left Little Penny in the damn background. He got bought in all that, you get caught up some times, you get caught up in that sh*t instead of doing your job. But yeah Penny was a problem.

Paolo Banchero on Magic compared with contenders in East: 'We're right there'

Banchero, like many of his teammates, has worked tirelessly to improve his game this offseason. “We feel like we’re right there,” he said. “We’re right there with all those (elite teams in the East). I remember last year, we started the year off as a top-two, top-three seed and everybody thought it was a fluke. Everybody thought we were going to be a play-in team and drop out the top of the East. We finished strong and got the fifth seed and had a chance to really grab the two seed at the end of the season. We were right there last year. We got better this year. I got better; all of us got better. We got some new pieces that are going to help a lot. We’re trying to make some noise. We should easily be a top-four, top-three team, and have a chance to win the East.”
