Glen Taylor subpoenas NBA in Timberwolves ownership legal battle
Glen Taylor has subpoenaed the NBA in the ongoing fight over ownership of the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to multiple people familiar with the matter, a rare move that could potentially expose private league communications and financial information to a more public audience. Taylor, the current control owner of the Timberwolves, is locked in a legal battle with Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez over the NBA franchise.
The NBA is not a party to the arbitration itself, but the league has a direct stake in the arbitration’s outcome given that the Timberwolves are an NBA franchise. The NBA board of governors approves franchise ownership, meaning the league will have final say over the Timberwolves’ ownership. Like the 29 other NBA franchises, Minnesota contractually consents to NBA rules specified in the league constitution, bylaws and other documents.

Isaiah Thomas on his future as a player: I know what I'm fighting against
Isaiah Thomas, at 35 years old, is not ready to ride off into the sunset just yet. “I just enjoy the process, but I know what I’m fighting against,” Thomas said in August during a lull at his Ninth Annual ZekeEnd Tournament in Tacoma, Washington, where he was joined by Pritchard, Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero, Dallas Mavericks guard Klay Thompson and other NBA luminaries.
“I understand it, but I’ve had that same fight my whole life. This is just normal to me. It’s just another stage I have to get by,” Thomas said. “I really want to just play two or three more years and then focus on my kids. That’s the ultimate goal and we’re just going to keep fighting until the end.”
That’s the reason Thomas continues: all he knows is basketball and how to defy the odds. “I believe in myself more than anybody would,” Thomas said. “I just feel like why not keep going and why not show the world what perseverance looks like, what fighting through adversity looks like. Then being able to do it with a smile on your face.”
