🙌 Celebrating Play It Forward Week 🧒, our annual event where we dedicate our time and resources to volunteer for various causes around the world. In Asia Pacific, our Mattel China Play Lab partnered with All Star, a local organization that provides care and education for autistic children, to create a memorable day of fun and learning. Together with our volunteers from the HK and Shenzhen offices, China Play Lab kickstarted the day with a visit to an exhibition that showcased the drawings from the autistic children at All Star. The group then visited the Mattel Playground office, where they prepared a variety of games and toys for the children to play with which included Mattel classics like Barbie and Hot Wheels as well as some team games with our colleagues. The day was full of laughter, inspiration, and friendship, as we saw the power of play in action. We're honored to collaborate with like-minded organizations to bring play to more children and will continue to uphold this philosophy to create a better and joyful world for all. 🏃♀️ Barbie fans in Taiwan had a blast celebrating her 65th anniversary with the return of Barbie Run after 8 years. 🏃♂️   For 65 years, Barbie has used her global platform to empower girls to dream big, explore their limitless potential, and direct their own narrative to shape their future. At the Barbie Run held in Taipei and Kaohsiung this June, thousands of fans dressed up in their Barbiecore outfits and ran with fun and confidence embodying the spirit to dream - and dream big.    But the fun didn't stop there! There's pink Barbie-themed marketplace with tasty treats and playful photo spots, while the post-run party brought fans together to celebrate their love for Barbie and her message of empowerment.   It was a fun event to remember, filled with sweats, play, and friendship. On June 11, Mattel employees around the world celebrated the first-ever International Day of Play (IDOP) in the communities where they live, work and play.   In APAC, Mattel teams organized a variety of fun events and activities that showcased the value of play for themselves and for others. The teams played UNO over morning tea in Australia and New Zealand, brought smiles and laughter to kindergartens at various manufacturing plants in China, had a blast with cricket and lunch in India, and shared games and snacks in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Shanghai. We celebrated IDOP in our own unique ways.   We are so proud of our amazing APAC teams who celebrated this special day with style. They truly demonstrated how play can connect us, inspire us, and make a positive impact on children's lives. Our Mattel factory in Bangkok recently completed a Play it Forward project to support skill building at local schools. We raised funds through an auction, purchased computers and equipment for schools, and offered scholarships for more learning opportunities. Our colleagues visited these recipient schools to deliver the donations and hosted sports activities with the kids to promote physical health & well-being. We also educated the students on waste sorting to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and building positive habits. At Mattel, we aim to create positive social impact through purposeful play and by supporting diverse, equitable, and inclusive communities where we live, work, and play. It was heartwarming to see the positive impact we can make in the lives of children in our community. Mattel Hong Kong has the pleasure of hosting a group of students from the CUHK Business School - Masters programme at our office last week. It’s such a privilege to meet and collaborate with this group of energetic students youth, bringing lots of inspiration and fun to both parties. People are at the heart of our culture here at Mattel. A great way to do this is through university outreach, which enables us to connect with students directly, tell our story, and share more on how we are empowering generations through play. During the visit, we shared more about life at Mattel and hosted an interactive session on career development, a topic that is very relevant to our guests. It was great to network with the students and for us to be able to share our insights about the industry and what makes Mattel a great place to work.
