Landmark Regular Railway Service Debuts from Chongqing via Shenzhen, Delivering First Shipment to Hong Kong Chongqing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong forge deeper ties to cement Hong Kong's status as international maritime centre The launch of the Chongqing-Shenzhen-Hong Kong regular train service marks a significant milestone in enhancing the connectivity and cargo flow among the three cities. The first batch of goods carried by this new rail link arrived at Hongkong International Terminals via transit by barge at Yantian on 23 August, 3 days after their departure from Chongqing, after which they were promptly transferred to international shipping lines for onward distribution across the globe. This new regular train service offers foreign trade companies in Chongqing a reliable and efficient transportation option. By reducing the transit time from Chongqing to Yantian, Shenzhen, from 5 days to just 2 days, the service enables faster access to the well-established barge network connecting Yantian and Kwai Tsing in Hong Kong, which is supported by 6 regular shuttles per day. A launch ceremony, which took place on 20 Aug at Chongqing, was attended by representatives from Chongqing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong governments, Chengdu Railway Bureau, Guangzhou Railway Bureau, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, cargo owners and shipping lines.

Hutchison Ports Supports Safeguarding Our Marine Biodiversity In June 2023, #WWF-Hong Kong established a three-year partnership with the Coral Academy of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Through our #RevivingOurCorals initiative, we have successfully rescued and nurtured a total of 393 Corals of Opportunity (#COP), namely coral fragments, with 218 of them being outplanted in Tolo Harbour and Channel. This summer, we are thrilled to expand the #RevivingOurCorals initiative. Started in April 2024, we kicked off a six-month project with the generous support of Hutchison Ports. This project involves restoring corals, conducting post-coral outplant monitoring, and implementing educational workshops at the Hoi Ha Marine Life Centre. Our goal is to restore a total of 25 corals in Tolo Harbour and Channel through coral fragment collection and outplanting. With #HutchisonPorts' unwavering support and commitment, we are confident that our efforts will have a significant impact on revitalizing Hong Kong's coral habitats. Together, we are making a real difference in the conservation and restoration of our invaluable corals. Let's join hands for a brighter and healthier marine ecosystem! #RevivingOurCorals #CoralConservation #marineconservation #ocean
