In this article by our partner Jelena Petrovic she discusses a recent study highlighting the importance of tailoring HR practices to meet the specific motivational needs of employees, as this can enhance performance. The study shows that employees are driven by different goals: some value relationships (communion), others seek recognition (status), and some aim for accomplishments (achievement). HR practices that align with these goals improve performance, but a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work.
