We used to think AI models were only good for generating content. Then, OpenAI released GPT-o1. It changed everything. GPT-o1 is about more than just generating text. It's built for complex problem-solving, making it perfect for logistics and supply chain management. PROS and Key Features of OpenAI GPT-o1 1. Multi-Step Reasoning:   o1 can break down complicated problems into simple tasks. This helps optimize logistics operations, like route planning and inventory management, by running different scenarios to find the best solutions. 2. Enhanced Demand Forecasting:   Looking at past data and current market trends, o1 improves demand forecasting. This means better inventory management by considering seasonal changes and customer behavior. 3. Operational Bottleneck Resolution:   The model spots and fixes operational bottlenecks find patterns that cause delays and suggests ways to improve workflow efficiency. 4. Automated Decision-Making:   o1 can recognize and correct errors, automating crucial decisions like stock levels and workflow efficiencies. This reduces human error and speeds up decision-making. 5. Real-Time Tracking Adjustments:   The model continuously monitors data from various sources. This allows logistics companies to adjust real-time operations based on events like traffic changes or weather disruptions. 6. Cost Optimization:   o1 optimizes resource allocation, helping companies cut operational costs through better carrier selection and warehouse location. CONS While GPT-o1 offers advanced reasoning capabilities, it has some limitations compared to earlier models like GPT-4o: - Higher Costs: GPT-o1 is more expensive—up to four times the cost of GPT-4o—due to its complex processing needs.    - Speed Limitations: The model may be slower in processing queries, especially complex ones, sometimes taking over ten seconds. - Feature Gaps: Currently, o1 lacks some functionalities present in earlier models, such as web browsing and image processing capabilities. OpenAI's GPT-o1 model is a big step forward in AI reasoning, especially for industries like logistics requiring complex problem-solving. Its ability to optimize supply chains, improve demand forecasting, and automate decisions can greatly enhance operational efficiency. However, when implementing it in the workflows, we must consider its higher costs and current limitations. What do you think about OpenAI GPT-o1? Thanks to our CTO, Array Wong, for the contribution 😁

What's my story? I am an islander at heart. Living near the sea brings me peace. I was born on the Island of Sardinia (Italy) and have since traveled the world, making Hong Kong my home after living and working in cities like Bologna, Budapest, Brussels, Barcelona, and Beijing. Running projects in 20 countries across four continents taught me to overcome challenges, embrace failures, build "anti-fragility," and appreciate the world's diversity. My wife and I have created a multi-cultural family with Iranian, Italian, and American roots. We celebrate three New Year traditions: Western, Persian, and Chinese. My superpower? Transforming obstacles and setbacks into opportunities. Thank you, Callum Laing and Veblen Director Programme, for this interview with "Enterprise Zone - Connecting Global Leaders." It has been an incredible opportunity to reflect on my life's journey, business ventures, and the valuable lessons I've learned as an entrepreneur. I strongly believe anyone can develop and nurture the mindset and skills to turn challenges into opportunities. In today's rapidly changing world, learning to navigate different social contexts and connect with people from all walks of life is also crucial.
