Fresno County History Day is celebrating its 42nd year in 2024-25! All Fresno County schools serving students from grades 4-12 are encouraged to participate.
History Day is an excellent way to embed Universal Design for Learning (UDL), as students have options in their research and choice to present their arguments within seven different categories (historical papers, podcasts, documentaries, performances, websites, exhibits, or a poster (elementary grade only). They analyze and interpret their findings, draw conclusions about the significance of their topics in history, and create final projects to present their work. These projects can be used at the school site for rich project-based learning experiences and/or entered into a series of competitions from the local to the national level, where they are evaluated by professional historians and educators.
