Embiid said Monday that he lost 25-30 pounds this offseason in an effort to be healthier during the playoffs, Sam DiGiovanni of ClutchPoints.com reports. Embiid added that there's no agenda this season other than winning during the postseason. Embiid is a seven-time All-Star and was named the 2023 NBA MVP, not to mention a laundry list of other accolades, but the big man has struggled to perform at his peak when it matters most. The emergence of Tyrese Maxey and the addition of Paul George should ease Embiid's regular-season burden, but it'll be interesting to see how the 76ers handle their star player this season. Embiid made 39 regular-season appearances last season -- his fewest since his rookie campaign -- and has never played more than 70 games in his eight-year career.

Latest 76ers News
Joel Embiid : Focusing on playoffs
Jordan Tucker : Signs with Philadelphia
Tucker and the 76ers agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal Monday, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports. The 76ers also signed Isaiah Mobley to an Exhibit 10 deal to round out their training camp roster. Tucker is expected to play for Philadelphia's G League affiliate during the 2024-25 season.
Isaiah Mobley : Joins Philadelphia for camp
Mobley and the 76ers agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal on Monday, ESPN's Tim Bontemps reports. The 49th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Mobley spent the past couple of seasons in Cleveland where he made 22 total appearances. He's expected to end up playing for Philadelphia's G League affiliate.
Lester Quinones : Signs deal with Philadelphia
Quinones and the 76ers agreed to a two-way contract Wednesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Quinones has two years of NBA experience, all coming with the Warriors. During the 2023-24 regular season, Quinones averaged 4.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists across 37 regular-season appearances.
Joel Embiid : Inks max extension with Philly
Embiid agreed to a three-year, $192.9 million maximum contract extension with the 76ers on Friday, Ramona Shelbourne of ESPN.com reports. The MVP center was already signed through the 2025-26 campaign and had a $59 million player option for 2026-27, but he'll decline that option and tack on the three-year extension that also includes its own player option. Embiid was limited to 39 games last season due to a meniscal flap tear after playing at least 66 contests in each of the previous two seasons, but he was as productive as ever when available as he averaged career highs in points (34.7), assists (5.6) and steals (1.2) to go along with 11.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks.
Judah Mintz : Signs pact with Philly
The 76ers signed Mintz to an Exhibit 10 deal Sunday, 76ers beat writer Matt Murphy reports. After averaging 12.4 points per game for the club in the Summer League, Mintz will join the squad on an Exhibit 10 deal. The 21-year-old played for Syracuse in the 2023-24 season, during which he averaged 18.8 points, 4.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 steals across 33.8 minutes in 32 games. Mintz will have the opportunity to make the roster, but it is more likely that he will join the team's G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.
Joel Embiid : Scores 19 points in comeback win
Embiid managed 19 points (8-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block in 27 minutes during Thursday's 95-91 semifinal win over Serbia. Embiid was one of three Team USA players to score in double digits -- the others being Steph Curry (36) and LeBron James (16), who also had a triple-double. However, Embiid also led the team with three turnovers. Regardless, Team USA is advancing to the gold medal game against France.
Joel Embiid : Starting vs. Serbia
Embiid (ankle) will start Thursday's semifinal matchup against Serbia. Embiid was dealing with ankle discomfort and sat out the second half of Tuesday's win over Brazil. However, he's feeling good enough to play and start in the semifinal against Nikola Jokic and Serbia.
