After You Apply
This FAQ is for prospective students who have submitted their application.
Individual graduate programs are responsible for determining all admissions decisions, including the timeframe for when decisions will be made. Please contact the program to which you applied to find out more information.
Once a decision has been reached on your application, you will receive an email letting you know that your application status has been updated. If admitted, you will also receive access to the confirmation form where you can confirm your enrollment and pay any matriculation fees. All confirmed students are required to submit official final transcripts (or official transcript evaluations for international applicants) showing bachelor's degree conferral by the start of their first day of classes at UC.
Please be aware that you are expected to enroll in the term for which you have submitted an application. UC does not do rolling admissions. Therefore, if you need to defer your application to a different term than what is indicated on your application, or withdraw an already submitted application, please reach out to the program directly to submit this request.
Deferrals are allowed for up to one year in total. A deferral of a single application beyond one year is not allowed and the applicant will need to re-apply. Admission is not guaranteed.
No - you do not need to request for an official copy of your UC transcript to be submitted as we will be able to access those records.
Due to the high volume of transcripts Graduate Admissions receives each term, there may be a delay in updating your student portal. Please allow up to three weeks for your transcript to be processed. If you have questions regarding your transcripts, please reach out to [email protected].
