TCU Releases Big 12 Schedule; Opens Conference Play on Dec. 30

Horned Frogs have nine conference home games on the docket

IRVING, Texas – The inaugural schedule of the Mark Campbell era in TCU women's basketball is set in stone.

The Big 12 released its complete conference schedule on Tuesday, highlighted by nine Horned Frog home tilts and a conference-opener vs. BYU on Dec. 30.

TCU has five home-and-home battles with Big 12 foes on the docket. The Horned Frogs play the expanded conference's remaining eight opponents once, creating an 18-game schedule. League play concludes on March 2. For the first time ever, the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship takes place inside Kansas City's T-Mobile Center. All 14 teams qualify for the tournament, which runs from March 7-12.

Conference pairings were unveiled in July. TCU faces conference newcomers BYU and Houston twice along with Texas, Texas Tech and West Virginia. TCU's remaining four home games are against Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State and UCF. One-off road trips to Baylor, Cincinnati, Iowa State and Oklahoma round out the Horned Frogs' league slate.

The Horned Frogs will seldom venture outside the Lone Star State over the winter. TCU has just two road trips beyond the Texas border from November-January, beginning with a 13-game nonconference schedule that features 11 home contests.

Following the conference-opener against BYU, the Horned Frogs make the 90-minute stroll south to Waco on Jan. 3 to face Baylor. TCU returns home on Jan. 6 opposite Oklahoma State, then embarks on its first of two 2-game conference road trips. The Horned Frogs swing through south central Texas to square off with the Longhorns (Jan. 10) and Houston (Jan. 13).

Two more home games take center stage in the latter-half of January. TCU meets Kansas State in Fort Worth on Jan. 17 and welcomes UCF to town on Jan. 23 for the first time under the Big 12 banner. Sandwiched around the home tilts are road trips to Iowa State and Texas Tech on Jan. 20 and Jan. 27, respectively.

February commences with a Schollmaier Arena Saturday tilt against Kansas (Feb. 3). A visit to Oklahoma four days later follows. TCU then has consecutive home games on tap vs. Texas and West Virginia in a Saturday-Tuesday pairing on Feb. 10-13. The Horned Frogs then two-step their way through Cincinnati on Feb. 17 and BYU on Feb. 21.

The Horned Frogs' final regular season home games are against Houston (Feb. 24) and Texas Tech (Feb. 28). The regular season finale sends TCU to Appalachia to play West Virginia on March 2.

In total, TCU will play at home a Big 12 era record 20 times over the course of its complete 31-game schedule. TCU's season-opener is against Oral Roberts at 4 p.m. on Nov. 6.

Fans can also catch their first glimpse of the Horned Frogs at 7 p.m. on Oct. 27 when TCU hosts Schollmaier Live, a preseason basketball event featuring a performance from nine-time Grammy Award nominee Rick Ross. The event includes an introduction of both men's and women's basketball programs along with a series of skills challenges and games. Admission is free to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Tipoff times for conference contests and broadcast specifications for each game will be announced in the coming weeks.

New season ticket packages remain available and can be accessed HERE. Single game general admission tickets will go on sale on Oct. 1.
