About Whitecross

Whitecross is a Christian Metal band from Waukegan Illinois formed in 1985 by lead singer Scott Wenzel and guitarist Rex Carroll. Carroll left the group in 1994 to start his own band, but during that time the group recorded three studio albums without him, with two different guitarists, Barry Graul and Quinton Gibson, who joined for that short period of time.

Scott Wezel took a two year break in 1998 to do mission work in Paraguay, South America, and during that time the group went on hiatus before reforming in 2000 with original members Wenzel, Carroll, and Michael Feighan, who joined the group in 1991 alongside Benny Ramos.

They won two Dove awards in 1990 and 1992 for metal album of the year for their albums, Triumphant Return and In The Kingdom; they also won the award in 1994 for “Hard Music Recorded Song Of The Year” for their song “Come Unto The Light”.

As of 2017, they have released nine studio albums.
