The Wannadies

The Wannadies were a Swedish alternative rock band that was formed in 1988 in Skellefteå. The band included Pär Wiksten (vocals, guitar), Stefan Schönfeldt (guitar), Fredrik Schönfeldt (bass), Gunnar Karlsson (drums), and Christina Bergmark (keyboards). They gained international recognition in the 1990s for their captivating blend of rock, power pop, and indie influences. The band achieved notable success with their single “You and Me Song” from the album “Be a Girl” in 1994. The Wannadies were known for their melodic hooks and infectious sound, which left a lasting impact on the alternative rock scene before they disbanded in 2008.
