AKA: Megan Thee Stallion & Reneé Rapp

About Reneé Rapp & Megan Thee Stallion

Megan Thee Stallion and Reneé Rapp are two women in the music industry who became friends and then collaborated to make Not My Fault to play during the end credits of Mean Girls (2024), in which Reneé played Regina George. This song is based on a line in the movie, when Cady says “It’s not my fault you’re like, in love with me or something,” and the track begins with the clip of Lindsay Lohan saying the line in the original movie.

Megan Thee Stallion also made a brief appearance in the movie, shown as a social media influencer who is interested in the drama at North Shore High School.

In an interview, Reneé has talked about her admiration and loyalty to Megan.

She’s, like, the coolest person and is also incredibly talented and works really, really, really hard. [… She] is also, obviously, very resilient, and she didn’t have to be. I think she’s really incredible.

In another interview, Megan spoke about her friendship with Reneé.

I love Reneé. As soon as I met her I was like, ‘Oh, you my friend. OK.’ I love it. I love her and I love Mean Girls.
