We are excited to bring together two of our most beloved restaurant brands under one roof, Applebee’s and IHOP. The Manager, Field Marketing will develop data-driven marketing strategies and foster strong franchisee partnerships that drive profitable sales and traffic growth. They will serve as the brand champion in cascading information pertaining to national marketing strategic plans and is responsible for successfully garnering franchisee support for national initiatives. Additionally, this individual creates and implements DMA-level marketing and media plans designed to drive profitable traffic and sales in assigned markets, plus assists franchisees in the development of trade area marketing plans. The Field Marketing Manager works collaboratively as part of an integrated team that includes members from Operations, Marketing, and Training departments.

This role focuses on expanding the IHOP and Applebee’s businesses within the U.S. with both existing and new franchisees. This expansion occurs through the identification and engagement of new franchisees in new and existing markets, as well as developing and managing processes to find, qualify, and induct new franchisees.

Additionally, the role involves composing and implementing term sheets, development agreements, and franchise agreements. This role must also provide construction and design expertise for new restaurants and restaurant remodels when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Finds, qualifies and inducts new franchisees in targeted geographies; manages qualification and induction process.
  • Works with existing and new franchisees to develop and execute agreements and negotiate amendments to development and franchise agreements
  • Review master development commitment schedule in Salesforce and evaluate if all activity and amendments have been recorded accurately
  • Collaborates with Regional Vice President’s and Executive Director, Development to identify opportunities and build strategic development plans for the Brand in targeted geographies.
  • Helps evaluate franchisee business plans and site packages to assure both franchise health and compliance with brand standards
  • Manage the franchisee approval process for all transfer of ownership transactions (assignments, refranchising and stock transfers)
  • Applies financial analysis to proactively identify opportunities and initiatives to strengthen, improve and drive new market entries.
  • Present strategic analyses and business opportunities in clear and understandable terms to leadership team as well as third parties
  • Due diligence and analysis of all pro-forms and business plans submitted as part of packages for new market entry opportunities.
  • Reviews and monitors franchise disclosure agreement, fee adjustments and/or modifications to franchise agreements and makes recommendations to leadership team
  • Follows company policies, upholds professional standards, and performs all work in a manner respectful of others.

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years franchise development experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce, Finance, Architecture
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong ability to build relationships
  • Time management and organization skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast paced environment
  • Some travel required
  • Strong team orientation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and work with difficult clientele in a respectful and courteous manner

  • Experience working in a multi-unit, franchise focused organization.
  • Solid grounding in restaurant industry, including a good professional network.
  • Process oriented, detail oriented, project oriented with good commercial and analytical skills.
  • Fun to work with and has an appreciation for food and restaurant business
  • Starting Salary $110,000+ "plus commission"
