The Yankees’ Aaron Hicks threw a baseball 105.5 mph from left field, might be a superhero

Yankees left fielder Aaron Hicks threw a baseball faster than any human person has ever thrown a baseball in recorded history.

No, really.

He did it from left field. He gunned Danny Valencia out at home.

According to MLB’s Statcast, Hicks’ cannon of a throw was registered at 105.5 mph (!!!). I don’t mean to get caught up in the moment, but OH MY WORD.

According to MLB.com, the Astros’ Carlos Gomez threw 103.1 mph last September for the previous high registered by Statcast. A throw from Hicks in September clocked in at 103.07.

Just watch this throw again. How did he throw a baseball that hard?

He might be a superhero.
