Notah Begay is one of Tiger Woods’ good friends, and the Golf Channel analyst broke down what he believes Woods’ odds are to appear in the Masters in two weeks: “50-50.”

From a 120 Sports interview:

“I think his golf game as a whole is in a great place. I think it was good for him to take a step back and assess a variety of things and do things on his timeline. It’s easy to get bullied into trying to acquiesce to the media’s concerns, or the PGA Tour’s concerns, or other people’s agendas.”

The good news is that this is an improvement over the “1 in 10” chances Begay gave Woods just a few weeks ago. So we’re trending upward.

As Chris Chase has written on this site, Woods taking a short “break” isn’t all that Woods needs, and while the Masters is certainly more entertaining with the prospect of Woods in the tournament, it’s silly for him to keep rushing back and finding failure when he does so.
