ADAMS, Suzanne, American soprano singer: b. Cambridge, Mass., 28 Nov. 1873. After studying with Marchesi in Paris she made her debut at the Paris Opera in 1894 as Juliette in Gounod's ‘Romeo et Juliette.’ After three years in Parisian opera she went to Nice. In 1898 she appeared at Covent Garden, London, and during the season of 1898-99 she appeared at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. In 1898 she married Leo Stern, the violoncellist, who died in 1904. Her rôles include Juliette, Marguerite, Gilda, the Queen in ‘Les Huguenots,’ Queen of the Night in ‘The Magic Flute,’ Mimi and Micaela.
