🔪 Microsoft is not cutting off its DEI team ! This summer, a long article published in Business Insider stated that Microsoft had shut down its entire Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team as it was no longer “business critical”. A lot of people were outraged. A few days later, Microsoft announced that their DEI efforts were intact. They explained two roles were cut on its events team because they were duplicated on another team. Microsoft's chief diversity officer, Lindsay-Rae McIntyre, told the BBC that diversity and investment in the workforce can help fix AI's bias problems: 🗯 “As we move forward, our D&I commitments remain unchanged.
