MEMBER NEWS | Welcome to Our New Member CMA CGM and New Energies Coalition!   A global player in sea, land, air and logistics solutions, CMA CGM has actively invested in and contributed to decarbonising its industry. In this sense, their key objective is to achieve #NetZero carbon emissions across all activities by 2050. To attain this, CMA CGM is ambitiously pursuing the goal of reaching two intermediate stages for its shipping activities: -30% of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and -80% by 2040 (vs 2008). Our new member’s decarbonisation strategy is based on two pillars: 🔵 Reducing energy consumption through operational excellence and optimisation of the Group’s assets. 🔵 Increasing the share of low-carbon energies, both by acquiring adapted assets and developing sustainable production channels. A pioneer in the use of LNG and biofuels in shipping, CMA CGM continues to diversify its energy mix by integrating new low-carbon fuels – biogas, biomethanol and synthetic fuels. The Group also focuses on innovation and collaboration by expanding the scope of its Research & Development (R&D) to explore cutting-edge technology and energy innovation in energy, ships, terminals, land, and air freight. These efforts include the launch of the NEW ENERGIES COALITION in 2019 to accelerate the energy transition in global supply chains. The New Energies Coalition is a consortium of 19 leading stakeholders operating across international supply chains. It aims to accelerate the development of energy and technology solutions to reduce the sector’s impact on climate change and to collectively tackle major energy transition challenges for transport & logistics. Within the Coalition, CMA CGM leads a working group focusing on Carbon Capture and Utilisation (#CCU) on board ships and the required CO₂ supply chain on board based on circular economy principles.   Find out more about CMA CGM at https://t.ly/Yrd18.
