👩🔬🌿🩸♻️🌍 Comment une femme a changé l'industrie des protections périodiques avant que le bio ne devienne tendance ?
“I did not set out to be a business woman. I was an environmentalist on a mission to challenge the unchecked ecological damage of period products and to offer a quality, honest alternative.” In the UK today, almost 1 in 5 companies are led by women. But, according to data from 2023, men still receive 6.2x more funding than women. To mark National Business Women's Week, we want to talk about our founder Susie's story. In 1989 at the age of 40, Susie launched the world's first natural menstrual health company, Natracare (🙋♀️). But, being a female business leader in the early 90s was no walk in the park. For instance: ❌Banks wouldn't take meetings with Susie without her husband present ❌There was no social media or concepts of virality to push the brand ❌Mission-based businesses were not trendy But she pushed on, later in 1993 working with the Soil Association to develop the world's first global organic regulations for menstrual products. In 2019, Natracare became the first period product brand to join 1% for the planet - donating 1% of our annual turnover to environmental organisations (with plenty more in-between!). Today, Susie holds an MBE for her contributions to Women's Health and the Environment, and holds countless awards for her dedication to making the world a better place. She continues to lead Natracare and the team who all believe in one mission: creating products that are truly kinder to the body and the planet🌍 Read Susie's story and how her burning desire to make the change she wanted to see in the world led her to today: https://lnkd.in/ebBBfWcH
