The Knit Design Award 2024 has officially concluded. From sketch to touch: winners Bjorn Backes and Pierre Sauvageot from Ecole Duperré Paris had the opportunity to bring their project to life through the craftsmanship and technical expertise of our knitwear laboratories. Touch down: the students showcased their final creation at the Loro Piana booth during the Pitti Filati fair in Florence. Throughout this journey, the students engaged with clients and professionals from Loro Piana, fostering opportunities for mutual enrichment, shared knowledge, and creative innovation. The thistle flower, a symbol of the Maison’s savoir-faire and textile legacy. ⁣ ⁣ Emblematic of the link between nature and craftsmanship, the thistle flower, “fiori di cardo” in Italian, was historically used as a tool to raise and brush the surface of precious fabrics in the Loro Piana Quarona factory in Piedmont. Thanks to its curved tips, it would lend materials a sublime finish – soft, lustrous, and delicate all at once – and has been part of the House’s historical coat of arms since 1951. Celebrated in the Fall/Winter 2024-2025 Collection, the signature flower stands as inspiration in details and motifs, encapsulating the Maison’s dedication to supreme quality. ⁣ ⁣ #LoroPiana

Students will have the unique opportunity to be inspired and guided by 28 dedicated mentors from 10 different LVMH Maisons: Acqua di Parma, Christian Dior Couture, Fendi, Guerlain, Louis Vuitton, Parfums Christian Dior, Moët Hennessy, PUCCI, Rossimoda and Loro Piana. For the first time, the LVMH ME Excellent program has expanded to include Vocational High Schools, continuing to raise awareness about our savoir-faire. Over 190 students from the Valsesia and Novara areas visited the Loro Piana production plants. The second edition of the Adotta una Scuola initiative, in partnership with Altagamma, continues with the IPIA Magni School in Valsesia. Students had the opportunity to visit Loro Piana Textile departments, enriching their knowledge of yarns and fabrics production and discovering with our Knitwear division how to take care of details and to continue pursuing excellence. #LoroPiana

Loro Piana rider since 2018 Edwina Tops-Alexander at the 91st Concours de Saut International Officiel at Piazza di Siena in Rome. An incredible athlete, she has participated in four Olympic Games.
