In this month's Women in Pro Audio, we had the pleasure of interviewing the up-and-coming Ashley Costello, an audio technician for AVL Productions. Ashley shares how she got started in the world of live event production, the challenges she's overcome, and her advice for aspiring female engineers. "When I was younger," Ashley reflects, "I had no idea you could make a living doing what I’m doing, nor did I really know that these kinds of jobs existed." It wasn't until she became involved with stagehand work at Florida State University that her career path began to take shape. "That’s when I realized that people really do this for a living," she says, "and I wanted to do it, too." What a thrill looking back at last month's festivities, when 850+ L-Acoustics employees were invited to join our 40th Anniversary Celebration of Sound Art. We kicked off the day sailing down the Seine on the same boat that carried the French Olympic team this past July, connecting as a group and setting the stage for an unforgettable experience. At La Seine Musicale, we journeyed through our company's history with our C-Suite and founder, Dr. Christian Heil, and were treated to a powerful performance from Sadeck. The night culminated in a party to remember, fueled by Martin Solveig's incredible DJ set. This is 40, a shared celebration of the best sound !
