Meet Selena Rezvani (she/her), a sought-after speaker, content creator, and author of ‘Quick Confidence: Be Authentic, Boost Connections, and Make Bold Bets on Yourself’. So, how did Selena become a Wall Street Journal Best Seller? Learn more about her journey here. “I’d always dreamed of writing articles and books, but my journey officially began at 25. At the time, I was working as a management consultant, and a new boss gave my team a mandate: publish three articles a year. As daunting as it felt, I quickly discovered my passion for the process. There’s something magical about tinkering with an idea, building an outline, and breathing life into it with research, color, and humor. Looking back, I’m so grateful for that push—it helped me fall in love with writing in a way I never expected. Much of my work is shaped by my own experiences. Early in my career, I felt pressure to be "nervous nice”, silencing my voice. This led me on quest to understand women at ease with their power. Over the years, I’ve interviewed over 50 top women leaders. These eye-opening conversations inspired me to write books that challenge others to break free from their own limitations, assert themselves, and reframe their narratives. When people read my work, I hope they feel empowered and capable. My goal is to give practical tools to build confidence, set boundaries, and create meaningful connections. I share my real-life experiences too—whether it’s grappling with self-doubt, navigating tricky conversations, or the urge to revert to my “nervous nice” persona. I want readers to feel like they’re talking to a coach and friend who’s been in their shoes. Outside of writing, I create video content for social media on self-advocacy and leadership. I also love adventuring with my energetic 11-year-old twins and chasing the world’s best slice of cake. (Life’s too short for anything less!) My Newfoundland puppy, Midnight, has taught me that “you miss 100% of the dogs you don’t pet,” so I make it a point to live by that motto.” Read more about Selena and her book: https://ow.ly/PLEp50UBgv8

Meet Bruce Brackett, social media personality, entrepreneur, self-taught visual artist, certified international motivational speaker, life coach, and the author of ‘How to Breathe While Suffocating: A Story Of Overcoming Addiction, Recovering From Trauma, and Healing My Soul’. Find out how a two-decade healing journey led Bruce to become a writer in this edition of #PortraitsandPages. “There are many challenges we face in life: trauma, addiction, poor mental health, self-identity crises and so many other things. I have endured and overcome many of these struggles, which is why I decided to share my story through my book, “How To Breathe While Suffocating.” My hope is that others can read it, feel less alone in their own journey, and find the motivation to keep moving forward. Throughout my journey, I’ve learned valuable tools that have helped me overcome these challenges—simple practices like breathing exercises, meditation, proper eating habits, exercise, and sharing my experience with others. We can’t keep what we have unless we give it away. I wrote my book to help people feel more motivated in their own journeys and to show them how to seize the opportunities they face every day. I try my best to lead by example and strive to be the very best version of myself—not just for me, but for other people. For me, moving forward means meditating, taking nature walks, spending quality time with my loved ones, and taking breaks to recharge. Recharging looks different for everyone, but for me, it means being creative, painting, singing, creating content (whether I post it or not). All of it is okay as long as I am putting myself first. As my father says his three dos…I pass this on to you. Do your best. Do no harm. And do for yourself every day, so you can do for others. It really can be that simple.” Find out more about Bruce’s book and our other Portraits and Pages’ authors here: https://ow.ly/YFle50UmwV0
