Chapter 4: Off-beat Left-Bank debut At 9:30 am on 29 November 1957, Gaby Aghion presented her first fashion show to the press and buyers over breakfast at the Café de Flore, the regular Left-Bank haunt for her friends, the artists and intellectuals of the day. A far cry from the formal and hushed presentations of the haute couture salons, the models sashayed around the tables — animated and connected to real life. From this debut until the mid-1970s, #Chloé collections were presented in similar settings, such as Brasserie Lipp and Closerie des Lilas. These iconic addresses, a part of the fabric of daily life and frequented by free-spirited thinkers, manifest the authentic and modern spirit of Chloé.
