🌊 "Navigating the ocean has always been an adventure. Now, it's a science! Here's how we've been turning the tide with LOUIS DREYFUS ARMATEURS (LDA) : 🚢 The roll-on/roll-off ship Ciudad de Cadiz, chartered by Airbus and operated by LDA, has successfully tested our short-term optimal routing harnessing ocean currents. The captains on-board followed optimizations proposed by our #OceanBulletin reducing fuel consumption by up to 5% ! 🌀 In the past, the unpredictable nature of oceanic currents posed a great challenge to seafaring, but not anymore! Thanks to AMPHITRITE's state-of-the-art technology, born from years of research at the École Polytechnique , we can now detect exact variations in the position and intensity of surface currents that can either speed up or slow down commercial vessels. 💡 How does it work? We use a combination of satellite data and artificial intelligence to predict currents at a fine-scale enabling a short-term optimal routing to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Our #OceanBulletin provides this information in advance to captains allowing them to decide their new course. 🌱 The practical impact? On the 8th of April, the Ciudad de Cadiz diverted a few tens of nautical miles north of the direct route between Sardinia and the Strait of Gibraltar, taking advantage of favourable currents and dodging counter-currents. This small course deviation increased the average speed from 16.5 to 17 knots over 36 hours, hitting a top speed of 18.2 knots without boosting engine power. The results, validated by AIS: an arrival time shortened by 70 minutes and a 5% decrease in fuel consumption! 🎉 A huge shout-out to the Innovation Department at LDA Etienne Mollier, Pierre-Arthur Fortin as well as Jean-Louis CADORET, Director General, LD Seaplane for their commitment to zero-emission maritime transport and for entrusting AMPHITRITE to provide immediate solutions. We are thrilled to be part of the journey to a more sustainable future! 👇 Link of the official LDA press announcement in the comments. #MaritimeInnovation #SustainableShipping #LouisDreyfusArmateurs

Développement de logiciels
Amphitrite produces innovative, reliable and accurate ocean data needed to make the right decisions at sea.
À propos
AMPHITRITE is specialized in advanced satellite and in-situ data, processed in real-time, for maritime decision-making. Reliable and accurate data is essential for making good decisions at sea. Nevertheless, oceanic numerical models still have difficulty providing reliable forecasts at small or regional scales. Our technological innovations are the result of research work carried out in recent years at the CNRS and the Ecole Polytechnique, by the founders of AMPHITRITE. They are based on data fusion and artificial intelligence applied to the huge amount of satellite observations and in-situ data. We provide solutions for green shipping, defense, and environmental applications, through several end-user products: - high precision oceanic currents for short-term maritime routing - validation and inter-comparisons of operational oceanic models - characterization of submarine acoustic propagation - pollutant transport and mixing at the ocean surface Our goal is to provide reliable and innovative ocean data tailored to your specific needs. 🌊 Welcome Théo to Amphitrite! 🌊 🤝 We are thrilled to welcome Théo Archambault (center of the photo) to our team as an expert in deep learning applied to oceanography. During his Ph.D., titled "Deep learning for sea surface height reconstruction from multi-variate satellite observations" he developed deep learning models capable of reconstructing critical ocean variables, linked to surface currents, leveraging sparse data collected from space. By combining various physical observations, Théo tackled this challenge and enhanced their reconstruction. A special thanks to his Ph.D. co-supervisors, Dominique Béréziat (on the left) and Anastase - Alexandre Charantonis (on the right in the photo), for their guidance and support throughout his research. 🙏 🛰️ At Amphitrite, Théo will play a key role in designing, validating, and deploying AI models. His goal is to develop deep learning solutions that optimize our ocean data analysis tools. He will work inside our AI team to turn complex data into valuable insights, serving the needs of the shipping, environmental, and defense sectors. 🌟 The AMPHITRITE team is delighted to welcome him. His extensive expertise will enable us to accelerate the development of our AI tools for the needs of various maritime players and help reduce emissions from maritime transport. We are excited to see how his approach, combining physics and deep learning, will help push the boundaries of innovation in our sector! 🌍💡

✨ Team Building and Terrarium Creation: An Unforgettable Plant Experience! 🌿 At Amphitrite, we firmly believe that success relies on close-knit, inspired teams. That's why, this week, we swapped our keyboards and computers for a team building workshop like no other : making terrariums out of glass jars. 🪷This moment of relaxation and creativity allowed everyone to give free rein to their imagination, while strengthening the bonds between colleagues. With advice from bobylaplante.com, we learned how to choose and assemble the elements needed to create magnificent self-sufficient mini-gardens. Why a terrarium? 🌿 Collaboration and Sharing : Making each terrarium required open communication and active cooperation. 🌱 Creativity and Innovation : This workshop stimulated our creative spirit, essential for innovating in our daily work. 🪴 Well-being and serenity : Handling the earth, plants and natural materials offered us a moment of calm and rejuvenation, beneficial for our mental well-being. Seeing our teams working together, exchanging ideas and helping each other in a relaxed atmosphere was a most rewarding experience. We're proud of the diversity and cohesion of our team, and this workshop has only strengthened our conviction that we make the most progress together. After all, isn't an ecosystem just like our team? 😉 🙏 A big thank you to Boby la Plante and all the participants for making this event such a success.
