"Family-friendly, flexible, caring! I started last January, and my orientation process was the most inclusive and intensive that I have ever had. Vizient’s medical plan benefits also include new coverage for elective abortions and maternity benefits for some dependents, as well as reimbursements for expenses for health care services requiring travel, such as transportation and lodging.

Pay inequity is one of the thorniest problems for corporations to deal with, but Vizient, a company that works with health care organizations to improve performance, enacted a pay transparency initiative in 2021, providing a forum in which to share information on pay. Vizient conducts annual assessments of pay scales in its industry to review and align compensation plans accordingly. All salary adjustments, except for annual merit increases, are routed through the compensation team for review and approval. These include salary offers to external hires; offers to internal hires; increases requested to recognize growth and performance; and increases that are part of a promotion. Equity is a primary consideration in all of these reviews. “There’s a tremendous commitment from executives to make this a great place to work,” says one employee. “Without exception, they follow through on their commitments to do just that.”
Employees say:
“Vizient is very focused on giving back to the community—we have volunteer time off beyond regular PTO, which allows us to invest in our communities. Vizient also 'pays' you for each volunteer hour so that you can donate the money to a non-profit. So Vizient not only provides the time off for us to volunteer, but they also donate to non-profits through us.”
Employees say:
“The company really strives to take care of its employees. The leadership shown by our company in responding to the pandemic as well as how employees were treated can only be described as exemplary. Given our line of business, I am also especially proud of our response to helping our customers find ways to take care of patients in the extraordinary times they faced.”

“Vizient offers a great deal of scheduling flexibility to support work-life balance. I am able to drop my children off to school (relief from extra child-care costs) and leave early if I need to attend a school function. As a working woman, Vizient has allowed me to have a successful career without sacrificing my family time or feeling like my opportunities are limited. My leaders do not micro-manage so I do not feel the need to report out any time I need to be away from my desk and they trust me to complete my work and accomplish my goals without constant oversight. This is empowering and reduces personal stress. Vizient puts their money where their mouth is and I have a great deal of respect for our leaders in doing so!”
