Mental Health Care

Empowering children's mental resilience through innovative, evidence-based gaming

About us

Evidence-based mental health management game Triumfland Saga for children aged 7-12. The onset of more than 50% of mental disorders happens before the age of 14, which makes targeting prevention and promotion towards children and young people important. However, existing healthcare services fall short in their ability to prevent long-term negative impact on child and adolescent health. Consequently, only 1 in 4 children with mental health issues receives treatment at the moment. Digital medicine is highly relevant when it comes to youth mental health in two fundamental aspects: detection of emerging mental illness and providing youth-friendly treatment. Our DTx platform combines psychosocial research, validated psychological techniques and data analytics to assess, monitor as well as support the mental health of children and induce the creation of healthy habits during gameplay. Unlike most other commercially available digital health solutions, the digital intervention is based on the Self-Determination Theory of motivation and behaviour change. Through a game environment, research-based content is delivered to educate, monitor and support children in a personalised manner. Triumfland Saga is available in 9 languages: English, French, Spanish, Ukrainian, Estonian, Finnish, Swedish, Romanian, Russian. For parents, we offer a subscription-based model where they can access and use Triumfland Saga on a monthly basis. This allows parents to provide their children with ongoing mental health support and engagement. Additionally, we offer annual licenses to educational institutions or hospitals and governments. These licenses provide access to Triumfland Saga for a specified period, enabling these organizations to incorporate the game into their programs and services. By offering annual licenses, we provide a cost-effective solution for institutions to integrate our mental health game into their existing offerings and reach a larger number of children in need.

Estonia’s First Lady, Sirje Karis, recently spoke at the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen in Kyiv, hosted by Ukraine's First Lady, Olena Zelenska. She emphasised the vital role education plays in shaping a resilient society and rebuilding Ukraine’s future amid the devastation of war. She highlighted Estonia’s commitment to supporting Ukraine, including integrating over 9,000 Ukrainian students into Estonian schools and making sure their schooling counts when they return home. She also visited the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital, damaged by missile attacks, and a center for children's rights, discussing the heartbreaking issue of deported Ukrainian children. At Triumf Health, we are equally focused on supporting Ukraine’s children. With the support of Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV), we've launched a pilot with 71 schools across Ukraine to provide mental health resources through our game, Triumfland Saga, and online course Wellbeing Triumf. We’re proud to share that the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital has also received our solution, offering much-needed support for their young patients. The war’s toll on mental health is undeniable, but with the power of education and accessible mental health care, we can help build a brighter future for Ukraine’s children. Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, a day to reflect on the importance of mental health support and suicide prevention. Every year, more than 720,000 people die by suicide, making it the third leading cause of death among 15–29-year-olds. These heartbreaking numbers emphasize the need for early intervention and accessible mental health care. At Triumf Health, we're committed to making a difference. Our game, Triumfland Saga, is now also being used by 23 mental health experts in private practice, and we continue to train a significant portion of specialists to enhance their work through our innovative methodology. We believe that providing children with the right tools early on can create a foundation for resilience and mental well-being. By raising awareness, fostering connection, and expanding access to mental health care, we can take meaningful steps toward preventing suicide and supporting those who need it most. 💙 No one should face this alone. 💙 #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #MentalHealthMatters #TriumflandSaga #TogetherForPrevention #Support

At Triumf Health, we're proud to be a founding member of DTx Estonia and to have participated in the DTx New Nordics 2024 conference. The event provided invaluable insights into the role of health data in digital therapeutics, the European health space, and the broader DTx landscape—key areas that directly inform the development of our own digital therapeutic, Triumfland Saga. It was a pleasure to engage in meaningful discussions with experts and leaders in the field. In the picture, Kadri Haljas, PhD, our founder and CEO is alongside Riina Sikkut, Minister of Health, and Jaanika Merilo, Head of eHealth Strategy at the Ministry of Social Affairs. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and using these insights to further support children's mental health through innovative solutions like Triumfland Saga.

We are thrilled to share that we’ve wrapped up filming our online mental well-being course for professionals in Ukrainian! 🎥 Throughout the journey, we visited beautiful and inspiring locations across Estonia, showcasing some of the country's finest gems that also resonate with the course's themes. This smooth and enriching process wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible team. The course, which will be publicly available in October 2024, will be accompanied by practical worksheets focused on self-care and working with children. As part of our broader project in Ukraine, supported by Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV), we’re proud to offer these valuable resources to professionals dedicated to improving mental well-being. #MentalHealth #Ukraine #Estonia #ProfessionalDevelopment #TriumfHealth #EstDev

In 2021, a comprehensive thesis at the University of Oulu focused on developing a gamified mobile health intervention to evaluate its effectiveness in the pediatric day surgery pathway. This study aimed to produce valuable research that benefits children and their parents at different stages of care. The study was conducted in three phases: - Systematic Literature Review: Included 722 children across 8 studies, revealing that web-based mobile health interventions effectively reduced children’s anxiety and increased parental satisfaction. - Interviews and Questionnaires: Healthcare professionals (n = 15) and parents (n = 31) highlighted the potential of digital gaming solutions in supporting care, guidance, and communication throughout the day surgery pathway. - Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT): Described the development of the gamified mobile health intervention and the study protocol for its evaluation. The research provides new insights into the needs and benefits of gaming mobile health interventions for school-age children undergoing day surgery. This information is crucial for developing solutions that enhance the care experience for both children and their families. We are grateful for this valuable research and look forward to continuing our mission to support pediatric healthcare through innovative digital solutions.
