How can you tell if a medicine is a counterfeit? 🤔 You really can't! Counterfeit medicines look like legitimate medicines, and sometimes they're so cleverly made that even a pharmacist can't spot a fake. However, it is very rare to come across counterfeit medicines in the EU. This is because of the serial numbers and product codes that identify medicines throughout their life cycle. 📜 In April 2023, the European Commission proposed the revision of the General Pharmaceutical Legislation (#GPL). This week, the entire Orion Corporation Executive Management Board and I visited Orion’s anti-cancer department at the Turku production facility. This department produces a medicine that is almost always used at some stage of cancer treatment. Orion is a globally significant manufacturer of both the active ingredient and the medicine itself, supplying the end product to more than 30 countries worldwide.  Our colleagues work in conditions that require extreme precision, skill, and protection, as you can tell from the protective clothing we are wearing – and this is not even the full gear. The production of medicines is always carried out in extremely controlled and clean conditions to ensure high quality and the safety of both our colleagues and patients. Ultimately, this work is done to support patients around the world with cancer – a disease that will affect many of us in some way, at some point in our lives. #PharmaceuticalManufacturing #MedicineProduction #PatientSafety #WeAreOrion

Hienoja uutisia! Orion Corporation Turun tehtaallamme käynnistyy pian laaja peruskorjaushanke, jossa tehtaan keittiö- ja ravintola-alue lähitiloineen ja vesikattoineen uusitaan kauttaaltaan. Hanke vaiheistetaan, jotta henkilökunnalle pystytään mahdollistamaan ruokailu myös hankkeen aikana. Teknisten korjaustarpeiden lisäksi hankkeessa on pyritty huomioimaan vastuullisuutta mahdollisimman laaja-alaisesti. Tässä niistä joitain: ☘Osa nykyisistä kalusteista kunnostetaan, jolla pidennetään näiden elinkaarta, minimoidaan hukkaa ja tuetaan suomalaista osaamista.   ☘Mitä pienempi ympäristövaikutus materiaaleissa, sen parempi. ☘Kotimaisuutta on suosittu materiaaleissa ja tuotteissa aina, kun se on ollut mahdollista. ☘Tilojen käyttöaste pyritään nostamaan mahdollisimman ylös, eli tilat on suunniteltu monikäyttöisiksi ja muuntojoustaviksi. ☘Hankkeelle on asetettu kierrätysastetavoite ja työmaavaiheessa laaditaan erillinen kiertotaloussuunnitelma. ☘Keittiön laitteiden osalta on laadittu elinkaaritarkastelu ja kaikki kierrätettävissä olevat laitteet kierrätetään. ☘Uusien keittiön laitteiden valinnoissa on panostettu energiatehokkuuteen tietoisesti. Tällä saadaan esimerkiksi veden- ja pesuaineiden määrää pienemmäksi. ☘Jätteiden lajittelua tehostetaan koko alueella, myös keittiössä. ☘Sään ääri-ilmiöihin on varauduttu suunnittelussa esim. kattokaivojen määrässä, tulvareiteissä ja rakenteellisessa mitoituksessa. ☘Käytönaikaista energiaa optimoidaan ja luonnonvaloa hyödynnetään osana valaistusta. ❤Käyttäjälähtöisyys osana suunnittelun tavoitteita. Tavoitteenamme on luoda tilat, joissa nykyiset ja tulevat työntekijät viihtyvät. Tähän päästiin mahtavalla organisaatioiden rajat ylittävällä yhteistyöllä ja toteutetulla henkilöstökyselyllä, mihin saimme loistavan vastausprosentin. ❤Luodaan paikka kohtaamisille, verkostoitumisille, pienillä palavereilla ja suuremmille tilaisuuksille. ❤Huomioidaan käyttäjäryhmän monimuotoisuus tilojen suunnittelussa ja tilatarpeissa. ❤Huomioidaan paremmaksi moniaikaisuus ruokailussa mm. eväskeittiön ja rauhallisin istuma-alueiden avulla. ❤Liikunta- ja aistirajoittuneisuuden huomioinen mahdollisimman kokonaisvaltaisesti. Riesa Consultative Oy:n tekemän esteettömyysindeksin mukaan tilojen esteettömyys paranee hankkeen myötä yli 30%. ❤Mahdollistetaan lounaan nauttiminen jatkossa myös ulkona uudella esteettömällä terassialueella.
