Final European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) implementation guidance have been released 🙌 The long awaited final versions of the first set of implementation guidances have been published by EFRAG: Materiality Assessment Implementation Guidance (IG 1) details a comprehensive materiality assessment process and the interplay between impact and financial materiality. Value Chain Implementation Guidance (IG 2) details reporting requirements for the value chain, defines the reporting boundary for sustainability. List of ESRS Datapoints (IG 3) translates ESRS Set 1 requirements into an Excel format, helping in conducting data gap analysis and data collection. We have helped numerous companies in understanding and implementing these standards, and we are excited to see these new resources support even more organisations in their sustainability journeys. 🌎 The link to the EFRAG documents is in the comments.

45% of LGBTQ employees in Europe hide their identity often or always at work. Today, on International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia, and we want to remind you of the importance of fostering inclusive workplaces for LGBTQ+ individuals. Despite significant progress in queer acceptance and visibility, navigating the workplace remains challenging for many. In 2023, nearly 8% of US adults identified as LGBTQ+, with even higher numbers among younger generations. Yet, discrimination persists. According to the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, 18% of LGBTQ Europeans reported workplace discrimination last year, with higher rates among transgender individuals. Creating a supportive and affirming environment is not just a matter of social justice; it's a strategic business decision. As societal demographics evolve, organisations that understand and embrace diversity are better equipped to serve their customers. Inclusive workplaces benefit from diverse perspectives, leading to better problem-solving, creativity, and overall organisational performance. 🌈 Read our full Impaktly insights to learn more about the challenges LGBTQ+ individuals face in the workplace and how organisations can create more inclusive environments. #IDAHOBIT

Just Approved: Products made with forced labour to be banned from EU single market The European Parliament approved a regulation that enables the EU to ban the import, export, and sale of goods produced with forced labor. Under this new rule, the European Commission and member state authorities can investigate suspicious goods, manufacturers, and supply chains. Products confirmed to be made with forced labor will be banned from the EU market, including online sales, and will be intercepted at EU borders. Investigations will be based on factual and verifiable information from international organizations, cooperating authorities, and whistleblowers. Factors such as the prevalence of state-imposed forced labor in specific economic sectors and geographic areas will influence the decision to investigate. Manufacturers of banned goods must remove their products from the EU market and either donate, recycle, or destroy them. Companies that fail to comply could face fines. Products may be re-admitted to the EU market once the company has removed forced labor from its supply chains. 🌎
