DFS Showdown: Setting your lineup for Eagles vs. Seahawks
The Philadelphia Eagles take on the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. This will be the game in the slot of the weekly DraftKings Showdown where a well-placed lineup can earn you some cash.
Here, we will look at setting the best lineup while also looking to be a bit contrarian because in DFS, you have to have those less-owned picks in order to win anything significant.
This is a matchup in which both starting quarterbacks — Jalen Hurts and Geno Smith — are listed as questionable for this game. So we could just as easily get Marcus Mariota vs. Drew Lock. That is going to make it tricky to set lineups, so you'll have to monitor those injuries.
Showdown captain
A.J. Brown, WR, Eagles ($16,800): In the x1.5-point spot, you're going to need a top-notch player. Without having the top player on the slate, you won't be in the top prizes.
Brown has 13 targets in each of his last two games and has received double-digit targets in six games this season. Regardless of who the QB is for the Eagles, they will be looking the way of No. 11.
The Seahawks rank 28th in the league against WRs this year.
Flex Plays
D'Andre Swift, RB, Eagles ($8,000): In addition to being bad against WRs, the Seahawks also allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs this season.
Swift has been quiet in the Eagles' last two games, both losses. He rushed for just 52 yards on 17 carries in those games, but the Eagles are going to need to be more balanced to get out of Seattle with a win.
Bet on Swift to have a nice night.
Jalen Hurts, QB, Eagles ($11,400): If Hurts plays, he has to be in your lineup because of how much he means to this Eagles team. He is a fantasy machine with his ability as a dual-threat QB and it seems like he scores a TD every week with the "Brotherly Shove" play.
Kevin Lockett, WR, Seahawks ($6,600): DK Metcalf would be the more desirable option here, but he's nearly $3000 more. Lockett is actually priced fairly generously here so he is the guy to go with.
Dallas Goedert, TE, Eagles ($6,200): Goedert returned to the lineup last week after a month away due to injury and caught four passes for 30 yards. That was also in a lopsided loss against the Cowboys, a team with a much better defense than the Seahawks.
Jake Bobo, WR, Seahawks ($1,000): You have to have a long shot in your lineup and this is the one we're going to dial up here.
Bobo only has 15 receptions on the season, but the Eagles rank No. 32 in the league in defending WRs so if there was a week where he could have a good game, it's here.
